Selling Naked Ghostbuster Mattel Figure on ebay?

I was just curious. Why do people ruin the figure and take off the suit of the Matty Ghostbuster dolls and sell just the head and naked body of the doll on ebay? I am not understanding this. Someone please explain.

Probably for people wanting to make custom figures based on the actors (a popular hobby), but who don't care about the Ghostbusters accessories…

I imagine the clothes and equipment will be later sold to either other custom builders or collectors.
