How about a full free-roaming gb game? I have both gtaIV and Ghostbusters and while I'm totally loving FINALLY getting a chance to play a good gb game, I have to admit to myself that I do wish they did it better… Murray should have debts to pay more often if it means we get more gb merchandise…

Specific things I'd like:

Driving the Ecto 1.

Of course free roaming city.

Brains. I'm, out of no choice of mine, a thinker, and level after level of blast and trap gets somewhat tiresome. While playing I kept thinking how cool it would be if more was made of tools available to the developers. Some clever ideas are there but never fully utilized such as the multiple ways to trap ghosts, having to figure out which weapons were most effective, and I love how you have to use the pke meter to find a ghost then understand its weaknesses.

Personality. We fight multiple new ghosts never before seen but I didn't really get who they were at all.

And I definitely agree that if there is another game, it's got to stop referencing gb1. The movie's not all that. It's like making a star wars game now after all these decades and constantly referrencing the crap out of its cheesy 70s style. Looking back I'm glad rgb strayed from the film's style and not only gave winston a character but fleshed out all the gbs, even janine. More of that would be fantastic.

Free-roaming environments only work with certain circumstances, to be honest. It works with GTA, because there's enough chaos you can do to keep it from monotomous. But something I found with Spider-Man 2: The Game, which had a free-roam New York, was that I didn't know where to go at times, that I felt a bit lost and overwhelmed by the whole free-roam Manhattan

But with Ghostbusters, I don't feel it would work, it'd mean making a load of unique ghosts for the free-roam aspect in addition to those designed for the main storyline, a lot of work to go through, and sooner or later you'll start busting the same ghosts again.

And then there's the city, asking the developers to recreate the Island of Manhattan is a lot of work to cover. Even if 98% of the populated buildings were clones designed to fit in the various districts, and the rest being the famous skyscrapers, it's still involving a team of people to assemble it block by block, and then populate it.

As for driving Ecto-1, that'd be nice, but you'd have to take out physical elements like damage to prevent people getting frustrated if the car breaks down from their manhandling en route to a bust. I also imagine the appeal of driving to a job would soon lose it's charm after a while.

Ghostbusters shall not be free-roaming becuase that could ruin the whole experience and also get the player kinda bored for the big city and the free roaming.

I dont like the GTA games becuase they are so boring to play, but i love the Spider-Man games (except Spider-Man: Friend Or Foe) and those games are perfect for free roaming but Ghostbusters isn't perfect for free roaming.

It's too bad that they didnt do a bonus thing in the game were they can let the player drive the Ecto-1 to escape some ghosts.

i respect and understnad ur opinions on non- free roaming gb game but they could do it with ease. if you look at the extensive ghost data base they could go from including smaller ghosts in gb 1 and 2 plus “free repeaters” like slimer, scalari bros, and the running ghost man. it wouldnt be too challenging to do it, i played the ds version and i never bored of doing repeat missions 100 times over just bc i was cruising in the ecto with the sirens blarring bout to roll up in to a place and bust some heads. plus if they make a sequel to gb game you could have a chase boss that would require use of the proton wand on top of the ecto to be used, such as the kildarby bird from rgb. i would never bore of a free roaming gb game, its the set path ones that bore me, imo.

It'd require a unique 3D model to be made for each ghost, as well as animation and sound design, so not exactly an easy thing to implement.

Also the terminal engine in the game couldn't handle it, as the terminal engine is pushing really high physics and detail.

It's not really a question about the engine being able to handle it, it's the actual hardware.

You can only do so much with the amount of RAM you're given.

I guess the Infernal Engine could handle it, but I think the real money breaker is how many developers a company has.

The GTA IV team had around 150 developers which allowed them to make the whole game. Terminal Reality has maybe a fraction of that if any.

I don't really want Ghostbusters as a giant free-roaming world. I want it to stay as is.

Linearity is fine with me.

So it was just ram? Ok, well that is good then as modern hardware can run it. Damn companies like MS and Sony, make consoles with no upgradable ram. I wish consoles would be like this, like the N64 was, but I am dreaming.

Just a bigger, better more “bad ass” sequel will more than suffice. No sand box ghostbusters game please. I just don't think it would work. True Crime: Streets of L.A./New York springs to mind…..
