Well IMO the game is great the references don't bother me one bit cause we are looking for what has transpired after GBII

I would say this is best game I played since the one I played on the seta master system the other ones were just merchandising crap

I just felt there could be some tweaks for the next game.

For Example

The GB A.I:
Even though playing on proffesional or any other mode I really felt like I was baby sitting “the guys” I mean I'm nit asking for killzone2 a.i just competent stuff like not standing around waiting for me to take the lead they are supposed to be showing me the ropes it was a bit annoying at parts when I didn't know where I was going in the sedgewick.

Back to the babysitting thing with the revive your teammate thing not a bad idea IF IT WAS COOP IN THE STORY MODE even 2 player coop would have gave me a hard on but only the wii got that ( I have a ps3) the coop side games are fun but I think the replayability would have come from coop story mode.

Linearity & Sandbox:
There could be a moot point at where the 2 could meet, because myself I would not have minded to drive around to some missions and otw to that mission were sidetracked by a “free repeaters class 1-4” of course the linearity of the game keeps you on track but it does get mundane even the little trinkets in the firehouse wasn't even enough Viggo only has about 120+ quotations then it gets boring whe. You go around the FH.

You could drive around the city but like from the sega master system game you are timed to get to that location before the apparition does it's DMV and leaves and you lose that job or choose to do the job that sidetracked you and continue to track down that ghost that got away to continue the story.

And to the other posters that said that free roaming would not fit GB are wrong IMO GB is a game that is fitted for a limited time of free roaming and you should have been given the option to be able to drive ecto-1 for the GB experience you're just limiting yourself if you think different and to the issue of not being enough ghosts or duplicate ghosts in the compendium that egon and Ray use to reference or catalog any new ghosts they run into :

Has a Class Bracket of 1-7 (iirc and probably more with the game and movie coming out)
The developers could go wild with their imagination on what to populate the city with any kind of ghost from any region of the city

A few other things that annoyed me was that I have a weapon that can rip a whole into another dimension…but I can't melt a chain at some points or destroy a door lol meh it's small but noticeably frustrating.

Also for example if you are standing on a staircase you will shoot the banister instead of raising your wand to shoot the target also same thing goes if you're in front of a wall with a window in it ie the library childrens area part of the game .

Also the evasiv e maneuvers of “ the guys ” did not interpret their personalities at all

Winston: IMO would be taking cover and finding the best possible way to end it
Egon: would be asessing the situation from the back and advising everyone the tactful way to take out the ghost
Ray: would be all over the place lol
Peter: well Peter is Peter

but we didn't get that really we just got robotic clones of their personalities overall still a great game great jokes and interaction between the characters

NO FREE ROAMING GHOSTBUSTERS!!
The only thing I would have liked to have seen would have been a few
side mission jobs like in the montages from the films maybe presented
in a map screen format, a bit like the Mega Drive/Genesis game.

I don't want complete free-roaming like GTA4, but I would like the ability to free roam some of the buildings. This would make the game more challenging and add to the replay value.

Wheras I'd like to see a sequel, I'd at this point prefer some free downloadable content for the original, and a bug-fix for the multi-player. I had Batman: Arkham Asylum recnetly, and it's much bigger with a lot of free DLC. GB really needs to make up for it's shortness.

Regarding the game, I personally loved it. The story engrosed me, and the action was great.
Problems? Yes, it had some. Wheras doing a fully free roaming game wouldn;t really work, it did really need to be opened out to some degree. Some location such as the Cemetery had no need to be almost maze-like, with only one way to get to a certain place. Others were generally way too cramped or small, with too little freedom of movement, espcially the outdoor locations. THe game felt way to claustrophobic at times for me.

I'd really have liked to have been able to drive Ecto-1, and go outside the front of the firehouse.

Also, After getting a Batcave for PlayStation Home included with BAA, I really wish that the GB game had come with the Firehouse included on the game disc, as Sony dont seem to be bothering to make it available via the Home Store for those of us in Eurpoe.

Overall I'm happy with the game, but the things that spoil it are quite considerable.

All of these ideas sound good, but the real question is, will the developers even think about a sequel?

I mean this game had to be successful enough to warrant a sequel, but no ones talked about it (I assume.)

That coupled with the fact they won't even release a patch for the first game on 360, gets me thinking they dropped the subject altogether.

I would love to see a sequel, as I loved this game enough to play it three times in a row to get all the achievements I could (missing the glitched ones,) when I have 700 other games to beat in my game collection.

It's out of our hands now. We've shown our support. Time to see what the developers want to do.

I know, I read this topic and I am PISSED now. Not at anybody here or a person, but to think the Ghostbusters 25th anniversary year is almost over, we got our game which was great, but no improvements in site. I was hoping for October/Halloween for an expansion and nothing. I am getting really pissed at how this is being handled. I don't know if it is one person or just “the whole situation” but this game was recognized as how to do a movie game and how to do a game period. The production value was off the chart and now we have nothing more. I haven't touched the game in months, but I can and will pick it up to play as it will never leave my collection. BUT, I already have one buddy who traded it in (not a gb fan) as the mutliplayer was lacking and really I see no hope for this game. I HOPE I am wrong, I would gladly put $60 more into the game for expansions, levels, modes, etc that made the game huge, but will we get it? I also thing GB3 is a big part of this as all that are apart of the GB franchise are focusing on it and not on the game. Sad I tell ya. I am so emotionally inside, that I can't stand it about this game. I am a gamer and a GB fan to the core and to see this huge game that I waited on for 25 years since I saw the first movie (I remember buying the gb game on the atari and playing it) just be left to gather dust, it sickens me. I wish I could write Dan Aykroyd and tell him.

If anyone is thinking sequel, it is possible they are waiting for an official announcement for the third Ghostbusters movie in order to make the game a marketing tie-in. The game wouldn’t have to follow the storyline of the third movie (I would prefer if it didn’t), but I’m sure that releasing the game in a movie year would help sell more units as Ghostbuster-Mania sweeps the world and people are excited about the franchise. It’s just a thought but it would make sense to wait and plan the game around the film.

Well even though the game came out in Jun09 I thought this was the game to promote the rumoured movie that was finally confirmed in the last month and not to be confused with the game anymore as our alternative to a GBIII movie

for them to rush out an official GB game would be kinda dumb

NOTHING for GB3 is officially confirmed. Actors and directors saying they start filming can easily change. It's happened many times in the past when Aykroyd said it would start production. It's not his fault obviously, but even he is skeptical that it'll happen until Sony official green lights it.

(possible soilers for the GB game in this post)

I really hope the GB game gets a sequel. I LOVED the first one (despite the annoying save state glitch) and I can see GB being a successful series of video games. Like others have said, I hope to see Vigo and the Scoleri Brothers back (maybe you can even visit the sites where the Brothers commited their murders?) and maybe more of Shandor's ties to Vigo can be explained (did Shandor paint Vigo and channel his spirit into the painting? I have a feeling it may be something along those lines with the mood slime having been created by Shandor's cult and pumped into the sewers).

I also think it's a must to have vehicle stages and even take cues from RGB, introducing the likes of the Ecto-2. A stage where you control the Statue Of Liberty could also be fun, and it'd be cool to re-visit some GB2 locales like the Van Horne subway station (even though the first game kind of already had a River Of Slime in it). I like the idea of Vigo being back and using Terror Dogs.
