Er, Shader 3.0 is a hardware requirement. It means your graphics card has to be compatible with a specific featureset in Direct3D's API (Shader Model 3.0 in this case)

Think of it as part of Direct3Ds way of communicating with the graphics card.

You should already have DirectX/Direct3D, no doubt the newest version of the drivers will be on the install disc, they usually are.

It is one the features on your agp card if it doesn't have 3.0 or higher I recommend to buy a new video/AGP card.

Thanx for the info. You would think they will put the “software” needed to run this game on the disk. I'll get whatever is needed to play this game. Even if I have to sneak into NASA…

I just remebered about looking on my graphics card box. It already has “Shader Model 4.1” and Direct X 10.1.
