I thought the remake was called Wall-e.

Seriously though, I'm afraid he'll turn out like the robot in the Lost In Space remake.

The Blue Robot was awesome, doubtful he'll look like that if the remake goes ahead.

the remake might be worth checking out but tbh i never really cared for the original Short Circuit movies, should be interesting to see what they come up with for the remake though.

I'm happy they made him more old school by the end. I just thought the blue one was a nice design but almost too menacing and far off from the original.

Agreed.

I loved the original Short Circuit.

Considering (presumably) how far most of the other elements from the show were represented in the film, it's not surprising they wanted to go with a significantly different robot design.

I think it's a telling sign about the state of the movie industry that films from the 80's are already being reimagined.

This is what we call laziness.

“I have a few ideas for a script that involves a family lost in space.”

“Lost In Space remake?”

“Ehhhh… sure, why not?”

You think up like half a script, steal various elements from some other source, then name it said source. Bam. Remake.

Not to say there haven't been some truly fun remakes. Lost in Space was probably one of the worst, I think.
