I believe one is the original 1989 game (with Ecto-1A jumping like Mario (WTF!?!?)). The other would be the so-called “New GB2” which was released in Japan, then ported to the Game Boy.

One of the GB2 games on the Gameboy I believe you get to control all 4 Ghostbusters including Winston, but I think it only came out in Japan.

GB2 with the blue background was a side scroller (from right to left walking, from left to right driving) where the Busters use the Slime Blowers to shoot little blobs of goo

NEW GB2 (Black background) was developed by Kirby alumni HAL Laboratories and was a top down view where you pick 2 busters (including Louis) and actually busted ghosts with one buster while the other trapped them utilizing the A & B buttons.

GB2 on the GameBoy isn't a port, but it is similar to NEW GB2 with it's own features such as time limits and special weapons.

NEW GB2 was a Region 2 only release while GB2 on the gameboy was Region 1
