Someone attending? I would like to see some actual pics of her.

Here she looks like a Splicer on Rapture (BioShock games).

At least a handful of the U.K. Ghostbusters will be on the scene to meet Ms Jovan, so we'll be able to report back on whether she's still recognizable as Gozer.

Be sure to tell her you're a god…

For those intending to visit, Slavitza is planning to attend on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, all three days of the convention. The price of £15 has been posted in regards (presumably) to the charge for her autograph, and she will be taking part in a photoshoot session - currently only scheduled for Sunday.

Does anyone have an agent address for her so folks can write for autographs? Honestly, I thought she was deceased for some reason.

Following Saturday's somewhat disappointing experiences at the convention (especially not being able to meet Patrick Stewart, and the news that Norman Lovett wasn't going to be there on Saturday like the Showmasters forum had suggested), I knew that I already had my work cut out for me when it came to what I'd be doing on the Sunday.

As it happens, this was, I believe, the first time I've attended the same convention on more than one day… prior to this I'd usually only attend one day of any given convention, either in civvies or in gear… following the experience I can see why people will be willing to spend a few days, as sometimes one day will be best suited for browsing and perchasing merchandise, and some days are best suited for costuming.

Even with the missed signatures, Saturday was definitely the “buying” day, and Sunday was most certainly the “costuming” day.

Waking at 8:30 for a planned meet up with Mark at 10:15 (as he would be giving me and my gear a lift to Milton Keynes), the morning was already pretty hectic.

It should be noted that after getting back from Collectormania the previous day, I ended up staying up until 4:00 in the morning getting the Proton Pack and gun as finished as possible, and that was even with help from my brother, Jon, and my Dad. The few last touches I could afford to do in the morning were packing away the batteries into the power supply box I'd placed by the Kidney Pouch of my A.L.I.C.E. Pack, and to tuck the split loom hosing into the rear handle of the Proton Gun.
Dressed, with the merchandise I wanted to get signed packed, and with my gear ready to go, my Mum and I set off for Uxbridge around 9:40 or so.

It was around 10:15 when Mark arrived, and once the gear had been loaded into his car, we set off for Collectormania. Over the course of the hour's travel between Uxbridge and Milton Keynes, we experienced annoying roadworks on the M25, more roundabouts we'd ever wish to remember… and it suddenly occurred to me that I'd left my photoshoot ticket at home on my notice board. :x

Unfortunately there was little I could do about this but bite the bullet, so I'd half decided I'd purchase a new one at the event.

In contrast to Saturday, the weather at MK Dons Stadium was significantly different, rather than it being quite cool, overcast and raining, it was sunny and somewhat warm… however the temperature was made a lot more reasonable by steady cool breezes which blew around the open land surrounding the stadium. After a few minutes of assembling our costumes, Mark and I headed inside.

The day got off to a good start, as within a few minutes of entering the stadium, I spotted Norman Lovett (the first actor to play Holly in Red Dwarf for those not in the know), and proceeded to get his signature added to a Red Dwarf series companion which featured signatures from the other four major series cast members (Craig Charles - Lister, Chris Barrie - Rimmer, Danny John Jules - Cat & Robert Llewellyn - Kryton). Mr. Lovett seemed quite amused by my costume, enquiring what it was.

After getting his signature, and leaving with the feeling that he was a pretty cool bloke, Mark and I bumped into Tara (Egonsgal), who'd already by then gotten her signature from Slavitza, and I believe, had already met Patrick Stewart. With the subject of Mr. Stewart being raised, Mark and I made our way to the stall where he was signing so we could get our tickets for his virtual queueline. I especially didn't want a repeat performance of Saturday.

Imagine my mind-stopping surprise when I asked one of the staff members at Mr. Stewart's stall, that I was told that it was an open queue, and I could just hop in!

I went straight in. Mr. Stewart also seemed quite bemused by my appearance. Leaving the signing (where he'd signed the DVD case slip for my copy of Star Trek: Generations) I could not help but feel really damn pleased, Mr. Stewart came off as a real class act, and he seemed genuinely pleased to receive praise for his depictions of Ebeneeze Scrooge, Captain Ahab, and for his perfmance in The Tempest which Jon had seen in London.

It was also giddy because in the first 20 mins or so, I'd gotten both of the signatures I was after.

Not long after that, we bumped into some more of the U.K. guys who'd be attending, I was re-introduced to Simon (Hondaboy), and I got to meet Luke (Bob Wobbaz), lukeysix and another member (whose name sadly escapes me). As with previous get togethers, it was great to meet new and familiar members of the group and share stories with them.

We even had a brief meeting with Loups Garou.

After meeting up with the others, I briefly split away from the group to visit the organiser stand to find out what options I had with my photoshoot ticket being left at home, unfortunately I found out that unless I had a copy of the confirmation email… my only chance would be to purchase a new ticket.

Returning to the group, I passed on what I'd learned… I was content with purchasing the new ticket as it was my own stupid bloody fault for leaving it at home in the first place… but quick as a flash, Simon stepped in to save the day.

After a short talk with him, I gave by brother Jon a call, asking him to check my email to see if he could find the confirmation, which he would then send to Simon's email which would then be displayable on Simon's iPhone.

As we waited, we stopped by the McDonald's outside of the statium to grab a bite, and in doing so drew a lot of attention from the public. Whilst we were there, I got a phone call from Jon who after a bit of digging, had managed to secure the confirmation email, and dispatched it to Simon's email address.

With the email in hand, the group returned to the stadium with Simon and I splitting off to revisit the organiser's stall. After a few minutes and profuse apologising to one of the members of staff, I had a new ticket for the session, and luck once again rolled in my favour.
I'd like to take a moment to thank both Simon and Jon, who performed beyond the call of duty.

Elated, we rejoined the others and proceeded to spend a large portion of the remainder of the day patrolling the stadium, posing for photos, interacting with other convention-goers and generally having an awesome time. It was during this time that I decided to get Mr. Jovan's autograph on the case slip for my copy of Ghostbusters.

Prior to attending the event I'd read in a Proton Charging interview that Ms. Jovan seemed quite shy, and this certainly appeared to be the case when I and others met her. She was soft spoken, but she seemed to be quite happy to be there. Although visiably older, she was still striking in appearance, and I'd already been left with a good impression of her, as earlier in the day whilst passing her, she waved to me, smiled and said: “hi”.

It was most definitely a pleasure to meet her, and I'm glad we got the chance to do so. When he met her, Mark selected one of the glossy 6x9 prints to be signed: one of a selection of great shots from the film.

When 2:45 came around, Mark and I made our way to the photosession area, where we met up with Tara and Luke as we queued for our photo session. The session itself was great, with Ms. Jovan striking a Gozer-esque pose, and looking quite menacing toward the camera. I know it looks like she doesn't want to be there in the photos we had taken, but she did appear to be enjoying herself.

After that, we returned to the patrolling/photo op routine to pass the time until the prints would be ready. It was during this second session that we met up with Oliver, who'd recently joined GBFans and pledged his participation at the event.

As the day wound down, the whole group gathered in the Dealer Zone for a few group photos… where it was quickly decided to move to a area with a higher ceiling (and also fewer people) to take a shot of us posed around Luke's Ghost Trap. Moving to a lobby area of the adjoining hotel, we readied ourselves for the photograph…
I can't recall the exact way things turned out, as it was so sudden and exciting… but when we least expected it, Slavitza and a few of her handlers suddenly appeared in the room.

We couldn't believe it! Tara politely requested if Ms. Jovan could participate in the group photo, and after a few moments she joined our side! A few moments later, and the group photo was taken, and we all gave our thanks to Ms. Jovan for giving us her time.

We were all elated following that, I think we then went on to have our photograph taken around the Trap… but this could've happened before the photo with Slavitza… and then we went on to take a few photographs with the nearby lifts.

The day was now properly winding down, with the stadium slowly growing emptier and emptier… the photos of Mark, Luke and myself were collected from the where they'd been set out, and we bid each other farewell as we made our way home.

The day was utterly awesome, both between the celebrities I'd met and the luck I had, and the company I was with for the duration of the days, thanks for making it such a memorable experience, guys.

Post event breakage report:

1) One thumbscrew accidentally knocked off of the longer lense on the Ecto Goggles.
2) Resin resistor knocked off of the Ion Arm after colliding accidentially with Oliver's Pack.
3) The lowest block on the Spacer was accidentally loosened, probably during the lift photos, and finally fell off when Mark and I were removing our Packs at his car.
