So GB3 is ACTUALLY the video game

I'd like the game to bridge the gap between the flms.

The gap? You mean the five year gap between Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II?

That wouldn't be possible this side of contradicting the established set of events in the films… and I doubt Dan of all people would be doing that… he's not George Lucas, yet. :p

fome
At this time we do not know if the game is gonna be based or not on the Hellbent script but maybe it won't… Dan clearly said “the story in there will be really really cool and will take people back to the feeling of the old movie”… maybe he just didn't gave enough details concerning the story but if he didn't then maybe it would be a completely different story to the Hellbent one… let's keep the hope for a CGI Ghostbusters 3 movie…

Yeah, if anything could be taken away from the interview, it could be that a new story might get made, and the Hellbent concept dropped… but who knows?

Well, however it turns out, we'll know in a year… OR MAYBE WE WON'T!

Sorry… That was either the inner cynic in me that was inherited by all Ghostbusters fans thanks to GB3, or I'm Regis Philbin…. I'M OUTTA CONTROL!

The CGI film, a game, just give me something before I get even crazier…

I got scared when the man asked Dan about GB3 and he started talking about the game. Now in Feb, Dan said there was a CG GB3 film and a video game that he'd be doing mo-cap for. He said there were two different projects.

This is what needs to be clarified - The newspaper article that said there was going to be a video game. The next day we hear the radio interview where he says GB3 will be CGI.

Those two pieces came from the same single visit. The newspaper met with Aykroyd and sat in on the interview. So, the question is if Dan was only ever talking about a video game - as in GB3 being CGI meant GB3 was the video game.

And given that when asked about the movie he refered to it as a perpetual rumour on the net, but that the video game was going ahead. I think in the radio interview that Dan might have been talking about the video game and we misunderstood.

But, until someone else says something, or Dan provides more details, we're just speculating. Personally I'm putting the movie back in the limbo file, and focusing on the game.

why can't Dan just be clear with us. So simple, there's no Movie. But there is a video game. :@

The idea of a “next generation” crew of Ghostbusters being trained by the original crew was something I was never too jazzed about – but it would work perfectly in a game, as the player could play as the next generation member(s); the training missions would certainly make more sense this way. So, I really wouldn't be surprised at all to see at least that aspect of Dan's Ghostbusters III script to make its way into the game, if not the whole idea of it.

Part of it is down to the questions the interviewer asks… if they don't ask the right ones the whether it's a game, a film or both will remain in shadow until someone does ask the right questions.

“Dan, when someone asks you if you're making ‘Ghostbusters 3’, you answer!”

Unless maybe the training levels were set in the Sedgewick, themed on 'Ghostbusters classic' before journeying on to 'Ghostbusters neveau'.

What I'm kinda hoping is that the game takes place right after their first hunt at the Sedgewick hotel in the first movie.
In the movie, there's a big timejump there and you only see highlights of what the Ghostbusters did in that period. It could be cool that the gamers can play Ray, Egon or Pete and have the adventures we only saw fractions of… the hot pants-unzipping castle ghost, the ghost in that dancing place (where the boys danced the night away afterwards), the chinatown ghost… stuff like that. Plus of course other missions the gamedesigners come up with.

Of course, there'd be no Winston in the game then since he only arrived after the first movie's timejump montage…

Reason enough to make a second game later, including winston

that would mean the main villian would be Gozer though, or there would be no main villian at all. i'd rather have a new fresh story that continues on either after Ghostbusters or Ghosbusters 2, it be more exciting that way cause its a new storyline and your following through, instead of just having things repeated. like the direction the Evil Dead games went, they acted as sequals/continuation of the story/characters. atleast Hail To The King did that perfectly. not so sure about the recent 2 that came out. didnt play the last one cause i heard it was terrible.
