Yeah - the BTTF game on NES was horrible. (Confession - I couldn't ever make it past the stupid soda shop. I'm sure I would hit over 20 guys and they still kept coming. Rediculous!) The Vice City mod was neat. Though I haven't played it in a while and don't know if the guys ever finished it.

I will say, I'm looking forward to the JP game as well. I agree with y'all that most of the prior games were pretty bad, but I really did enjoy the arcades.

I'm not sure exactly what all they have in mind, and I've never bought an “episodic game” before, but for these two properties, I will sure give them a chance. Heck, I'll probably even pre-order BTTF, especially if there is an incentive to do so.

It takes 50 guys to get past that stage, I should know, I did that particular game for a Lets Play and kept having trouble with it myself, but thankfully I got lucky and passed it, cause yeah, that was damn well annoying.

As for episodic games, I don't know, but I'm guessing I'll find out when I buy Sonic The Hedgehog 4 since that's supposed to be the same.

50 guys? That's crazy. And all it takes is for 1 to reach you. That's horrible planning. (Thanks for letting me know. If I ever pick it back up, I'll keep count and at least have a goal in mind).

Please let us know what you think of “episodic gaming” once you do get one. I'm interested in the opinions from hands-on experience, since I have none myself.

I know, crazy thing is that Biff only had 3 guys in his gang, and you're supposed to beat 50 of them to get past that stage. What, did he recruit the rest of the town or something to beat you up? Oi.

I'll have to wait as I don't think that the Sonic game has been released yet unfortunately.

I still see activity here if its the forums you're talking about, if that's what you're talking about.

Ill drink to hoping both of em do well upon release. That first game was a b*tch. The soda shop got pretty easy to me. The hardest part was blocking those 100 kisses from Marty's mom. That got me just bout everytime. That and those bees on the streets. I remember getting to the end of the game twice. Once I failed and the second time i made it….but I completely forgot how the end happened. Always did like the search and exploring thru time with the second one on NES. It was impossible to finish in one sitting. I'd like to meet/watch the programer's performance who managed the beat the game in one sitting. I don't think I ever saw the end of 2 or hardly anything of 3.

I think the kisses were like the bullies in the soda shop and you only had to get 50 of them, well, not only as it can also be quite a pain in the arse, and ugh, the bees, those were also a pain.

As for #2, yeah, that was a hard one, mainly cause it involved getting lost so much.

Well, there hasn't been much news on this since the announcement was made, but now Telltale (the developer) has a survey up for input on the game. You can take the survey here.

Of most interest though are the 4 game senarios they want rated and commented on:

June 18th, 1938. Young Emmett Brown is about to announce his engagement to gold-digging young woman, turning his back on scientific pursuits forever. If Marty and Doc can’t bust into the party and get a singular Jules Verne novel into his hands, Emmett will never invent the time machine, a possibility too horrible to contemplate. Maybe they can sneak in with the swing band…

June 11th, 1968. Weaving their way through the peace protestors outside the courthouse, Marty and Doc surreptitiously use Doc’s temporal scanners to look for the mssing objects scattered through time by the wreck of the Time Train. After a number of dangerous encounters with riot police and hippies, there’s only one artifact left… the remnants of the train’s flux capacitor… repurposed as a peace necklace.. around the neck of a VERY pregnant Loraine McFly. Marty suddenly remembers that he’s going to be born tomorrow…

May 12th, 1986. After stopping Biff Jr. from getting in a fight with his time-displaced son, Marty leaves the dance floor and sneaks into Strickland’s office, looking for the keys to the detention hall. He doesn’t know how three teenagers from 2010 got their hands on a time-travelling Delorean, but the most important thing now is getting them locked up in one place before they mess up everyone’s future…assuming they haven’t already…

November 5th, 2010. Working together, Teen Marty, Doc, and Present Day Marty finally corner the man who made off with Doc’s Time Train. While they argue about what to do with the well-intentioned time-hopper, a scary black vehicle appears out of nowhere. A familiar bulky presence steps out and confronts them. ‘Detective Tannen, Temporal Preservation Squadron.’ I’m afraid you’re all under arrest’…

‘Detective Tannen, Temporal Preservation Squadron.’

Interesting. Very Interesting.
