It's true, and thanks to Bill Murray. GB and Dan Akroyd's career may be dead.

BS!!! What blockbuster hit has Dan had lately?! His career is going nowhere. And “Crossroads” proved that. GB3 is exactly what he needs to have a hit and get his career back on track. Even he knows that. His career has stumbled so badly that he made a CD with James Belushi! Anyone that isnt blind can see his career is going nowhere and he needs something really big to make a comeback. And we all know what that is. Dont over look the obvious.

Plus he needs Jenny Craig. Desperately. What is with all this actors once they hit 40 they balloon up? Geeze.

have you ever thought the reason hasn't had a big blockbuster lately is that he DOESN"T WANT ONE? have you seen him actually headline any films lately? from what i've heard, he's basically retired from doing anything major in movies besides small parts. as for the CD with belushi, you think he HAD to do that? from what i've heard, he's more interested in making music than acting. i'm sure he didn't to that CD to put food on the table… get a clue, everyone doesn't always want to stay in the spotlight their whole lives.

Sigh…Tobin once again you prove your ignorance. Dan has indeed retired and obviously doesn't want to make anymore films.

As for “getting his career back on track,” there isn't much wrong with it. Dan's been in the buisness since the 70s and really has made a name for himself despite what you think. He doesn't need to prove himself. He's been popular for years despite not doing anything recently. So there.

Dan isnt freakin' retired. He just hasnt had a huge hit. Look at Murray, he's still kicking arse. So is Ramis while directing and writing movies. Dan hasnt chosen to retire, its the simple fact that he hasnt had a hit. So it seems like he has retired. I dont recall ever hearing Dan say “Ive retired”. Face it, he needs GB3 to get his career back on track. Most people these days dont know who he is. While the same people know who Murray is. It's the truth and Im not freakin ignorant. Im simply stating the facts that are right in front of our faces. And you guys always seem to over look the obvious.

Aykroyd Quitting Hollywood

“We're excited, we can't wait to get there and get a horse, get a couple of dogs and build a barn. We'll do all the things that we want to do that will make a permanent lovely life.”

Well, that absolutly sucks. Dan is one of the best actors. He is my favorite in fact. He said for awhile so I think he will make a come back. Cause actors dont really ever retire. I think he just meant he was taking a long break. Cause he has two new movies coming out this year. Bright Young Things and
Whitecoats

That article is also two years old and he has had eight movies since then. Dont sound so much retired?

yeah, I love Dan Aykroyd but in my opinion, his best days are far behind him. He has no desire to make “The big one” anymore. I don't see a comeback in his future. If anything, some more minor work here and there, but as far as being a big star or major draw at the box office again, he's honestly just not the cool thing anymore and not what people want to see. Sad I know.

He's done so many great things and I think he's ready to just relax. And of course the music things he wants to do.
