So, what happened to Dana this time?

Weren't her and Peter back together again at the end of GB 2? Do they mention her at all during the Video Game's storyline? (I haven't finished it yet.)

I'm just wondering because Peter is very flirty with Illyssa during the game, and Dana is supposed to be back in GB 3 (if it gets made).

Dana does get a mention or two in the videogame, although nothing to say where she is.

Aside from it having been utterly unoriginal if once again the paranormal activity had surrounded her, her absense was down to Sigourney Weaver turning down a role in the game, only to change her mind when it was too late to do so.

Its one of my favorite things about the video game, actually…

Dana being the target again would've just been like “OK, come on… really?”

It was bad enough that Dana was the target twice. If it happened a third time, she would officially have the worst luck in the world.

It wouldn't really be bad luck. Remember the advice of the incomparable Mr. Goldfinger: "once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, three times is a plot."

They broke up between the 1st and 2nd movie. Chances are they would have broken up again.

i could be wrong, but i swear the couple times her name IS mentioned in the game (in the context of the Shandor building,or the past case with Gozer) , Peter - or CGI/cartoonish Peter - gets this weird, uncomfortable look on his face, like he doesn't want to hear her name or something…gonna assume they broke up - again…

Yknow, I'm gonna have to disagree with a lot of people. I think her being the focus of the turmoil again in the game would have made it cooler. They could've explained the supernatural activity that always follows her by revealing that she was a descendant of Shandor herself (instead of Ilyssa) and she never knew about it. And if they had a two year old Oscar, and the hilarity of Peter interacting with him, that would have added depth to the characters and plot.

I'd disagree on that. I think having her again would have been way to repeativite. If Dana appeared in the game I would have liked that, but I only wish her and Venkman weren't seperated (in a dating sense I mean) AGAIN.

I dunno, it might have been hilarious to have her in the game. It's the ultimate “Why does this always happen to ME?!” thing.
