Why are there so many Ecto's and Egon's on this board? I know its popular and everybody has tried to make their name different, but i confused more than half the time, I keep thinking Egon13 said something Egon 15 said or maybe it was Egon 17?….And we have ecto-1, Ecto1, Ecto-1A, TheEcto1a, Ecto….etc.

Now i know the guys who have been here back when GB.com had the board..or maybe even as far back as when Bill Emkow had the board, but is there something we can do to make newbies each name more unique than a slight difference?

I've been Ectoman ever since I saw the EGB episode Killjoys, when it first aired. Before that.. I was just AJ.

I'm surprized that there aren't more people that have something to do with the class system in their names. I know I'm unique, but I didn't think I was THAT unique.

When I first got on the internet in the mid to late 90s I tried the name Egon when I signed up for things, since he's my favorite GB character, but it always was already taken so I combined it with my favorite number and there you have it… I've signed up as egon13 back in the GBcentral days and kept it the same since then.

I've had this since and before the release of GBN.
I may sign up for another account and eventually just use that one, but for right now I'm happy with it.

Well, here's the history of my net nickname. . .

In 1997, I began chatting on the net in Capcom's game chatrooms under the name of Megaman15. I used that name till I began using Nintendo's N-sider message boards. From there on, I used Mariorox.
During that time, I visited Yahoo, Bill Emkow's GB board, N-Sider, and other places for a while. I was mostly seen in World-of-Nintendo. The name stuck through 2001. I then wanted to change my name to something that was a bit more unique. I took Ray Stantz's name, and the last part of America's favorite fat feline, Garfield and made up the name, Stantzfield (sometimes there'd be an s where the z is). Then for a while I stopped using the net for message boards & chatting (used it for looking up info on cartoons & games). Now I've once again joined the Ghostbusters community and I ran into the problem that I lost my original password for Stantsfield. I decided to just change my name and begin with a clean slate. My new name is a combo of the two leaders of the two GB teams. Peter from Peter Venkman and Kong from Jake Kong. Simple as that. What my next net nickname is a mystery till whenever. Who knows, I may just stick with this one for a long time. Afterall, I used Mariorox for about 4 years.
