Spider-Man: One/Brand New Day

Ok so after reading the four part “One More Day” and the first part of “Brand New Day” i feel i need to vent. i don't know how many of you have read it so i will attempt to not spoil anything, but by far this is Marvel's biggest F-up since the 90s. The story i felt was written well but was completely unneeded. The fallout of OMD may cause for great stories in the Spidey universe, but come on. I've been trying for the last two weeks to try to figure out how this is going to fit in the overal Marvel U. I'm also curious how other Spider-man fans feel about this.

Huge comic book fan here.

All I can say is Joe Q screwed everybody on this.

Every fan I know is dropping every spidey book.

ya man i am a huge comic book fan too. though i am not dropping the spidey books just yet because i see potential for great stories coming out of this, i just don't see the need to rewrite all that history for the character. it would've been better if Quesada just said “ every book from 19xx on please disregard” at least then i wouldn't feel cheated.

I hated One More Day and I will not be buying Brand New Day or any more Amazing Spiderman.

For a more in depth detailing of my feelings on the comics (if you're not squemish about spoilers, you can read them in this topic.

Ben i couldn't have said it any better. That was such a idiotic thing to do that almost destroyed my respect for Quesada. i just can't see myself dropping ASM cuz i love Spider-man so much that i want to read these new stories, though i suspect that within the next two years we will see yet another retcon that brings everything back to before OMD, 'cept maybe disregarding the whole dying/stingers thing.

That series did everything wrong that it possibly could to the Spider-Man Universe.

It makes you hope Aunt May up and disappears anyway to serve Peter for being so selfish.

The damage that it's done to the Marvel Universe as a whole? It's clear they didn't really weigh the consequences.

Like others in this post, I am done with the Spidey comics. Done.
