Why the big fuss over a moved post. I know other forums have more freedom and allow you to post anything and everything but that can be a pain and confusing. I like how our mods keep things organized. No need to have a cow over something as little as a moved post.

Why, oh why, is this so difficult to understand? The post was as relevant as any other friggin' thing on this board. Sure, it wasn't fanfiction about Tully/Melnitz offspring or demonology or the best scene in the first 1/3 of Ghostbusters 2 or some other such ridiculous thing, but hey…I must just be a confused newb.

Even further, it's about attitude devoid of substance. To me, that's the real rub.

And for now, I'll assume that you like it because you don't know any better.

The difference between here and Proptopia is Proptopia isn't meant to be a Ghostbusters site, that just happens to be one of the main subjects of discussion. The General Ghostbusters forum is for the discussion of general GB topics and related items… And regardless of the greater freedome due to the smaller number of topics, there's still a good sense of what should be posted in which forum on Sean's site.

Ben I know what the difference is. I was just referring to something I had posted literally a day before on Proptopia.

I've been a bit absent as of late with my computer being fixed. Yes, in my opinion as well the topic is more suited for Miscellaneous or Board Talk. Things used to be even less adamant about personal/private messages if I remember right.

No one is getting banned or anything(I'm sure Sinister was “warning” you in the best interest of continued posting here not to spam the forum :p, that's all) but yes the justification was that the topic wasn't in the best place for it. That's all, nothing personal. I would have moved it as well. The thing about just being a message board could go the other way as well as far as Sinister was just doing his job, much like I'd do my job here, enforcing the “rules” in what are pretty loose terms. Yes it's true most people do look first at the General Forum because most people probably come here for GB talk before anything else.

All in all, no harm done. I think things are pretty laid back here compared to what some people say it is. Especially things being as quiet as they have been. I enjoy GBHQ as well but we're generally less at each others throats here than there. I haven't moderated anything I think since the spam was taken care of. There just isn't much to do, even with the new game being talked about.

On the subject, no I haven't seen Oldschoolbuster around. Like someone else said, he hasn't posted here since November for what that's worth. (*peter) I'll keep an eye out here and on the other forums though you'll probably spot him before I do. (^_^)

I'll certainly admit, I was a bit harsh in my follow-up post (that's right! a dash of humility!), but don't use that as an excuse to act like some sort of authoritarian school marm wielding the “OR ELSE!” switch. This is particularly true here, on a board dedicated to a ghost-centric comedy film from the 1980's.

Oh, and thanks for the note on the guy I'm looking for, Z…perhaps he'll pop up, or someone that knows him will.

The reason why I lacked humour and understanding is because of your aggressive second post and then aggressive response to that. At no point did I say “OR ELSE!”. I did NOT say you were going to be in trouble for anything other than if you DID post 50 messages, becasue then you WOULD have been in trouble, if not with me than with some other moderator. There is a difference between saying what you need to say in a matter of fact “tone”, and being an “authoritarian school ma'am”.

Telling others to “take note” a blatant dig at Ben and myself is hardly going to make us any more inclined to be more good humoured in future.

Now. I am fully aware that with this post, I'm not exactly helping matters, but as an individual, I will not sit by and just take blatant digs at myself and a colleague of mine when we did nothing wrong. I accept, I SHOULD have posted a reason for moving the thread immediatly, but I was rushed and as you're a more senior member of the board, figured it would be permissable to do so. Personally, I could care less whether or not you appreciate my digs; they're there for a reason, and I stand by them. You're mashing what's left of this board's good name into the mud, and that's your perogative. Just don't expect all of us to play coy.

I've ceded my behavioral error; as a moderator, I would absolutely expect you to do the same, rather than pussyfooting around with innocent eye-batting (and I'm not talking about moving the post, as that's not the issue at hand; I'm talking about your approach).
