Anyone else hear about this game? It's an “MMPORG” (whatever that is) like War Craft apparently… You start out small and then build bigger ships and explore the galaxy… I have to admit it looks pretty cool…

Been watching it off and on since it's announcement. Waiting until I see some Beta footage before I make a decision of whether or not to try her out..
So far from descriptions given by the developers it seems cool…and certain aspects of Trek would be well suited for an MMO…

Massively Multiplay Online Role Playing Game. Exactly like WoW, or Star Wars Galaxies.
The average person only really has the time and money to commit to one MMO, and right now, for me, that's City of Heroes. That'll get old soon, but I don't know that STO will replace it for me. Still, watching to see what they do.

What Archetype do you play? I used to play Villain Side myself…loved Masterminds.
Castewar is correct…mostly people just focus on one at a time…right now I am sucked into the Actiblizzard monster that is Warcraft though I am switching t WAR when it comes out…

I have CoH. I stopped playing several months ago, though, because I got bored of the grind.
I'm just not an MMO guy, I don't like completing what appears to be the exact same mission of “beat up every single guy in the same sewer/office building/cave” five hundred times.

You played a beta and based all of your opinions on that?
The game has come a long way since then.
Sure, the game doesn't have massive PvP, but that is far from a good MMO.
I stand by my opinion that LOTRO is superior to other MMOs. If you want to be “thoroughly unimpressed,” play Pirates of the Caribbean Online.

I could have sworn star trek online was cancelled awhile back due to lack of interest. I will might take a look at it later, but I'm a wow fanboi at heart
