Comparing Ghostbusters to Star Wars and Star Trek might just be the most assine thing I've ever seen in relating that to a reason for the game to be on time. Star Wars and Star Trek have MUCH bigger followings, and make MUCH more money than Ghostbusters. Deal with it.

You guys need to learn some patience. Wait for the official word on what's going on. People need to stop posting a “PROTEST THE DELAY!!!1!11!!!” thread every other day.

The negativity amongst all of you is insane. We're still getting the game, we just have to wait a bit longer. And we're getting plenty of new stuff in the meantime. Comic, RGB on DVD, etc. That should be enough to tide you over for a bit. I for one, can actually find the positive in the fact that it won't be one big quick wave of new stuff, but instead will be a few things spread out over a while.

I feel we deserve to be treated better than this because you know deep down every company involved in this whole matter doesn't give a shit about the fans.

Venkman does have a pretty decent point though. It's probably better a bit spread out. I mean, what would I play with first? :p

Now a days, I don't have much respect for Star Wars anymore. I got really sick of the over merchandising and movies. But I am getting pretty sick of us GB fans getting kicked in the ass every time we get something new, then have it either delayed or canceled. The GB comic from 88MPH, which was planned as a monthly comic, didn't get past the Legion mini series, and even the collection book never got published and people lost money (although I think the money was eventually refunded).

Activison really choose the worst time to decide not to publish the game. Just months before the game comes out, even after all the money spent into promoting the game at conventions with the Fall 2008 attached to it. However, we haven't even got official confirmation yet, but that's about the only good thing right now, that we don't know for sure we're gonna have to wait almost another year.

Whats wrong with some of you people?

Honestly. This is why the studios and companys pull this shit, cause your so used to it, you have no fight left in you at all.

And dont give me, oh we're getting the real ghostbusters on dvd crap eather. They could have put that out YEARS AGO with no trouble, but they dident. THE ONLY REASON its coming out now is because of the video game, which might not come out this year anyway.

And another thing, the ghostbusters logo is the 2th most reconised ICON in the world! You mean to tell me thats not a big following? Star trek, Star Wars, Ect all have bigger fan bases, BECAUSE THEY ALL HAVE MORE THEN TWO MOVIES, AND A SHITLOAD OF MERCHANDISE.

If you were to get just one of every single star trek or star wars toy, book, movie, game, etc, you would need a god dam industral warehouse to store all the crap

Us ghostbusters fans can barly fill a small bedroom with stuff! What do we got, a few waves of figures FROM THE CARTOON SEIRES and some role playing toys and coloring books?

Yet, every single day, Trek and wars makes thosands of dollars on high end expensive collectables. Not to even tally up the non stop constant barrage of new toys and figures, then the multiple versions of said items.

Yet, those companys would never make a delay on a finish product, and do you know why? CAUSE THERE FANS WOULD STORM THERE HEADQUARTERS if they could, or loose so much money just on the delay itself.

How ever, some of us so called fans, just say, oh who cares, we cant do anything. WHICH IS BULLSHIT!

True story, George lucas, in 77, retained all the merchandising rights to the first star wars cause the studio dident see it being a hit, and dident care who kept the rights, because they thought they be useless.

Then star wars is a huge hit, and of course, the studio wants to make more money off the film, but cant, cause they dont have the rights to the merchandise, lucas does. So, what does he do, he hires kenner to make figures, and for xmas, sells EMPTY BOX's of star wars figures, with a valture for the real figures in the spring when they were ready for mass production. (the only reason that happend cause nor he or the studio expected such a demand for those items and needed time to actuley make them)

HE MADE MILLIONS selling empty boxes. then when the figures hit the market, he made so much more.

Hell, since the spring of 78, lucas has made hundreds of dollars A DAY off figures alone. thats 30 years of profit.

Ill bet if you tally all the profit from just the films, and compare it with merchandise profit, the films wouldent come close to what the merchandising rights have made.

Simple fact is, fandom needs material stuff to hold on to. That is how you substane a franchise, with fresh, new products on the market.

Sony is still going off 19 year old bad data from ghostbusters 2. Ghostbusters 2 did not fail at the box office due to a bad film. Almost everyone i know says its just as good as the first film. The reason it bombed is because it was opening within weeks of HUGE OTHER SUMMER FILMS LIKE INDY 3 AND BATMAN

Had the film opened that xmas, i gurentee it would have made alot more money.

But sony is still on that summer bullshit mentality. Just because the first film opened in the summer, dont mean summer is always the ideal time. Also remember, ghostbusters 2 was set durring and after xmas, so it would have made 10 times more sense to launch it in that window. Who wants to go to a christmas timed movie durring the summer?

You dont see them selling xmas movies in june, do ya?

Ghostbusters 2, due to a bad launch window, killed the entire franchise. You mean to tell me if ghostbusters 2 dident launch in november, it wouldent have generated so much more money, and twice as much merchandise for xmas? Everyone and there mother would have went out to see it, bought the figures…toys, etc and made twice as much money.

But, 19 years later, cause of one dumb marketing move, we THE FANS have to suffer. The game is almost if not allready done, the dvds and blu rays are ready. Im sure they have master prints of all of them, but they want to hold off intill JUNE on most of the stuff, just to slap a sticker on them.

halloween is the prime time launch window. I have not went 1 halloween were i did not hear or see somthing ghostbusters related on the radio, tv, or in person.

To delay the game till summer, is doing the exact same thing they did with the 2th film. it will launch at a time when it gets burried by other high end movies and games, (next summer you have new terminator, star trek, transformers, etc) products and films coming out. It will easly get lost in all the other products and wont make a profit, thus punishing us fans further due to bad marketing choices.

The idea some of u guys had about double dipping the game was great. Put out the standard edition, then put out a delux edition in june with added downloadable levels, etc… and make a killing..

But, apparently sony, activision, who ever…dont view it that way. Greedy *****!

The way your brain works must give you a lot of headaches.

Really man, you're causing yourself undue stress.

And please stop acting like GB is on par with Star Wars and Star Trek. Its not. Your point of them having more fans and making more money is both irrelevant and incorrect. They made more movies BECAUSE they made so much money and had so many fans, then it snowballs as they get more fans and make more money and make more movies.

The fact of the matter is, had these things been originally announced as coming out in June 09, you wouldn't be bitching and moaning about the delay. Certainly it was considered in the original planning to release the game around the 25th anniversary. For whatever reason, they decided to schedule it for October. Then Terminal Reality was purchased by Activision, who decided not to make the game. That's no one's fault except for Activision. And any kind of internet petition, boycott, whatever… is not going to change that because the fanbase for Ghostbusters is simply not big enough. That's not an opinion, it's a reality. The fact that so many of you choose to not accept that fact, and try to organize all these bitching sessions, is going to do nothing but cause yourselves undue stress and disappointment. You're not going to change when the game comes out. Accept it.

Terminal Reality is not owned by activision, they own themselves.

Sierra/Activision only held the rights to publish the game, and any future games. developed by TRI (Terminal Reality) or anyone else they decide to make a GB game, so if for example EA gets the rights to publish the game, they can do the same.

SNIP BIG POST

Seriously, you really need to calm down here. The game delay is Activision's fault, because they don't want to publish it, and you could go even father by saying we would of gotten it this year if Activision hadn't chosen not to publish it so close to the release date.

At this point though, we don't know for sure weather or not the game is delayed till next year. All we know is there is no publisher attached, but it could be a while before we get one so we probably won't get it till next year, unfortunately. But it is not some conspiracy to screw us fans around. It's just poor choice at last minute by the company that bought the rights to publish the game, then decide not too.

That simple. Star Wars and Star Trek fans are no comparison here. They're in there own league, which is why they get so much crap released every year. Ghostbusters is unfortunately, not as popular and we're gonna have to deal with that. At least the game isn't canceled, because that is much worse than getting delayed. At least we know we're getting it, but we don't know when.

Yes, it pisses me off too and a lot of us. You can't go around saying we don't care, cause we do. but the truth of the matter is, we can't do anything. Despite what you may think, us writing petitions, sending them angry letters, isn't going to get the game out any sooner. They need a publisher to get the game out, and they don't have one (as far as we know at the moment) because Activison decided not to publish it. But we're getting it eventually. That's it. There is nothing more to it. We ARE GETTING THE GAME SO JUST BE GLAD OF THAT.

Yourbigpalal83,

I want to remind you also, that it was not just Ghostbusters that got the snip, ,many other games and franchises got it too, Massive's World In Conflict Series, Brutal Legend and others also got the big ol' pair of scissors, how do you think their fans feel? just the same we do, but none the less, the developers have said those will get published too,

as Peter Venkman has said, we will get the game, but when is up in the air and to be decided, please calm down, there will be some official info soon.

Trust me, details are being hammered out, phone calls made, E-mails sent, there is alot going on behind the scenes to get this game out to our hands.

Allright, i amit im pissed, the one major thing ive wated for, for years and this happens when we're so close to getting what im viewing as GB3 and its INTERACTIVE, then it gets pulled out from under me.

I mean, honestly ive been wating for 19 years for somthing new….and im pissed off that i still have to wate longer
