Subnames...(formerly Rankings)

If we have subnames, why not let each person make their own subname?

Too subjective. A ghosthead could make his subname be “Mderator”. Or “Wbmaster”. And get away with a lot of crazy crap.

Rankings dont make stupid members act stupid. If someone is that dumb to care that much, they are gonna be the same typpe of people that cause trouble anyways. If someone is gonna be a bad user, its not gonna be because of trying to get a rank.

Actually with the phpBB platform, you can program to make them do different things than the ones GBN had. There are Karma points, and other things you can set up. People can rate the poster if they wanted to.. which could allow them to go up in rank.. or a admin could take away ranks if they spammed the board.

I think they would be cool to have again… but just have more.. and don't tell anyone what the thresholds are.

Theres only 2 subnames, well 3. But still. Rather the same I think. I like what AJ suggested. Sounds cool. Just being bumped up sortve randomly. But at the same time you dont want to be hurt just because one user doesnt like your opinion or something either.
