Summer Proton Fun

This is the summer I am FINALLY going to build my pack, and if that goes well maybe a trap. I started looking into building one the summer of ‘98 when I came across Bill E.’s baord and Paranorman's plans. My fire for Ghostbusters, and especially the proton pack had been reignited, I was feeling like I was 5 again, putting on Kenner's blue RGB pack. Once the school year hit I only did minimal work; gathering materials, drawing up plans, etc. The furthest I got was a half constructed gun, motherboard, and cyclotron. Then as the year went on, I was working, I just lost the time to fully devote to the project. This continued all the way until my first year of college here at wonderful Marist. Even though I haven't made anymore of the pack, I have kept up with the plans and have planned out exactly what I'm going to use, how to do it, etc. The beauty of this project is that since so many of us have come together, we have a huge knowledge base to draw from. I compare the few pics and original plans we had from around ‘96/’98 to what we have now, WOW, what progress. I can not wait for the GB Prop Archive to open, and I can't wait to show everyone how it comes out. I have 3 weeks of school left and can taste the saw dust. I look forward to letting all of you know how I'm progressing and am anxious to know how everyone's projects are going now. I am a veteran of the boards but not of the props (need to catch up with everyone), although I have some killer battle plans haha. I also have been figuring out how to do the EGB pack, which may happen if this one comes out ok. Take care for now, have a great rest of the school year (for those still stuck in school) and let the propping fun begin AGAIN.

Cool man! I'm doing the same thing this summer! I'm working on designing my EGB gun, but I probably won't make the pack. I just gotta get the GB1 Proton Pack done first!

Well if I actually do get around to doing the EGB pack I'll let you know how it goes and we could exchange measurements, etc. But right now it's only the original. But I would love to do EGB in a movie style, so it'd be true to the cartoon, but look more like gun metal or brushed steel.

i am from singapore actually. My so called “summer holidays” is the 1 month holiday in june. I have already started building my wooden proton pack. I have good news that i have heard. This friend of mine actually owns the ecto 1 car itself, it dosen't have the sirens and all on top but it is the ecto 1 alright. he said he got it during the japanese occupation when the japenese invaded singapore. It is green in colour as it was used by british medics in the past. It costs a bomb! Since he knows me as a close friend, he is selling it to me in the future.

Who youre' gonna call?!

He doesn't own THE ECTO 1. Sony has both ECTO 1 and 1A. He probably has a self built replica, but he sure doesn't have the ECTO used in the movies!
