Television Advert to the Game

I was just thinking. Seeing as though Aykroyd, Ramis, Murray and Hudon will be doing voice work for the game it will be a perfect opportunity for the people who are marketing the game to bring the actors together to make an advert for it.

I can imagine it. The ad begins with lots of gameplay footage. The camera then focuses on the people playing it and shows Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudon holding controllers all sat on a couch messing around.

That'd be great!

I could imagine a new version of the Ghostbusters TV advert from the movies being done using the models of the Ghostbusters, working along the lines of asking if you had the stuff to make it as a Ghostbuster.

Of course it could start with teasers of just the four Ghostbusters, and then later on cut in footage from the games with additional ironic narration, such as a sequence showing property damage playing as one of the team narrates with “As a Ghostbuster, you'll be trained with the newest and safest technology we have to offer”.

Were it to happen, I think the most obvious thing would be a spin on the 555 2368 ad from GB1 with the character models, as Kingpin said.

It's a reasonably iconic moment in the franchise so may cash in on nostalgic affection for the film too.

What would be ideal would be a standalone new GB's ad, in the same awkward style of the above mentioned and the ‘free baloon for the kiddies’ advert from GB2, designed specifically for the game with no ingame footage at all. At least as a teaser.

anything fresh and new, i'm up for!

they should just use the commercial from GB1, with the three of them standing in front of the fire house, but have it animated from the game.

And then have it fade to:

"GHOSTBUSTERS: THE VIDEO GAME–COMING FALL 2008".

Except of course you mean the 4 of them. They'd have to add Winston into the commercial. No more nonsense with him not being in the advertisements for GB stuff.

That's a fantastic idea! It makes perfect sence!

There could even be a free phone number which appears under the guise of the Ghostbusters telephone number which when called promotes the game. I can imagine Janine answering and confirming that you have been successfull in your job application to be a Ghostbuster!

they actually made that a real number to call in the 80s to promote either 1 or 2. or so i've heard, and if you called it would be message from Ray or something.
