THE MODERATORS, how are we doing?

What always frustrates me is when someone posts about something that may have been mentioned like a year ago (not a doubled thread on the same issue at the same time) and it immediately gets locked, even though I atleast could think of a few new posts to add to it just to carry on the conversation… Just cause something is repeated doesn't mean the issue is totally dead…

Evil Toaster I wasnt talking about you. But merely other idiots. Yeah so so far weve had Mellie drop, Bison drop, and I swear some one else besides Icer. But whatever.

The mods need to use discretion rather than locking anything they can, thats the biggest problem I see.

theres a post that blatantly goes exactly what all i was saying. it is an abuse of power to the nth degree. its a REGULAR post stickied. but because its god almight chad everything he says is an announcment for all to marvel at.

its a post about a video game being online. i dont give a flyin what for, its a regular post not worthy of announcement sticky status. bluto unstickied it, but he bitched at her and threatened her. eeeeeeh wrong!

fix it. discuss in your mod board.

and get the others that havent the fortitude to respond to my claims, to respond.

Well, since it's been brought it up…yeah, I thought that was kinda tacky too. Even though it IS the misc. forum, Chad's projects shouldn't get any special treatment just because he's the webmaster. Had it been a thread from ANYONE else, it would never have gotten stickied in the first place. I'm not sure I'd call the initial act “abuse of power” so much as an error in judgement…but I would say that forcing it to be re-stickied is power abuse if that's the whole story. I wasn't there, I don't know for certain.

True enough. If it helps, I think the mods that have stuck with it are doing a really good job (You too Shadow, though I know we've definately had our differences of opinion in the past).

apparently not zack, thats what this whole topic was about. you're one of the big headed “We're doin fine” mods i was speaking of. you can easily shrug off a video game announcement that should have been a regular post, but completely ignore a very useful tool like a report button or a ignore button.

fantastic job you are doing zack!

from the bottom of my heartfull of sarcasm!

My problem as of right now is that, and I think it has always been my problem, I find myself being the only mod on once and a while, as Im sure some of you other mods have experienced, and a situation occurs in another Forum. Lets use me as an example. Im a Fan Fic Mod, and say something happens in the Misc section, that is getting waaay outa hand. There isnt jack I can do about it, I have no power there. And, since no other mod is on, it only gets worse. I always see a topic ending with, “Can someone pleeaaase lock/move this now?” and Id love to, but i cant, and since it takes forever for it to get moderated, it makes us look bad, like we arent bothering with moderating sometimes. Well thats me, and prolly nothing is gonna get done, since I remember this being a topic back in the beginning.

no zack

“if you dont like it then leave”

is small and petty and 100 percent expected from you to say. my claims were not. and even the “my double post was locked” is hardly ever complained about. i dont care what those that complain about me say what for. its not what this topics about.

continue being “on top” of everything.

ironically i asked for your opinion, but you as a “person” hold no value.

hmm.
