The New Ghostbusters Timeline

Yes indeed it is Mon! I'm sorry if I have seemed a little none supportive with your omnibus timeline. It's just a little hard for me to look at the very thing that got me into Ghostbusters. Don't get me wrong, I love RGB too, but I always looked to OGB for facts…. you know. And when I see it referred to as fiction, and RGB fact… well, you get the idea. But I'm glad we;re sorted.

It is a good tome line but the age of the actors of the first movies should be taken into account. By my calculations the characters should be in their 30's maybe even 40's.

Dan ackroyd born 1952
Bill Murray born 1950
Ernie Hudson born 1945
Harold Ramis born 1944

I do not think the new comic book should focus on “The Real Ghostbusters” cartoon even though it is great. I hope i don't sound rude but the comic should follow the movie. Don't get me wrongyour time line is great but I want a comic that follows the movie. One extra note, if you watch the commentary on the DVD Harold Ramis said that the character of Winston had a number of PhD's and was ver over qualified for the job as a ghostbuster. It would have been difficult to get more than one PhD and go to vietnam because it take s a while to get just one.:s :s :s :s

Let's see… Mr. Fritz Baugh, alias Veedramon, has been registered for about… four months.

In that amount of time, he has posted 253 replies to topics. He has written the exceedingly impressive Ghostbusters Omnibus Timeline, which somehow manages to fit all of the radically different Ghostbusters shows, comics, and movies into one seamless universe. Every last detail from every last product. He has now created a new timeline for the new comic universe, and has just posted the first part of his fourth fanfiction(all of which are very good).

……….

I don't think you're human.

Graves is keeping her eye on you, mister…

awesome dude but only one problem, louis would have to have been born in 1978.

hold on to your hats ghostheads cuz this is where i shine.

if louis is born in 1978 he is 18 in 1996, he is 22 in 2000 when he finishes his schooling and becomes an accountant, in 2003 at the age of 25 he celebrates his third year as an accountant on floor 22 of his appartment building.

HOLLA IF YA HEAR THAT!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Baugh said on his site that he'd been working on the timeline for quite a few years, if I'm not mistaken. Something like that TAKES a while.

He's still not human. Having accomplished nothing of significance in my entire life, I find people who pull these things off suspicious.

(Plus, anyone who can watch some of the latter episodes of GB has got to have some sort of powers…)

One question, though… I noticed you still have the family orgins on the timeline, but since these were established in RGB, should they really be there yet?

That's why they're all listed as “Conjectural”. Meaning “I consider this fact still valid until Red Ketchup and Company say otherwise”, while also subltely (?) hinting maybe “Don't change this, Please?”

The new timeline is, as I said, whacked out of the framework of the Omnibus Timeline. I first started the Omnibus almost five years ago, when we got our first computer (it was past it's time then, but it had a word processing program and it was all I needed. **Evil Chuckle**). The first versions where written with XGB still fresh in my mind, and augmented by the reruns of RGB on Fox Family about the time I started writing it. Over the last few years I kept coming back to it, adding and occassionally deleting facts…it was purely for my own amusement, and some of the things I wrote in it reflected that (for example, an early version I posted included some conjectural matters on the origins of the primal gods…Dr. Spectrum persuaded me to delete it, and he was right. I also wrote in a really filthy joke on the XGB episode featuring Eduardo being put in Pagan's body. That went out quick too)

I changed a lot more when I discovered the Ghostbusters net community late last year. For example, I had different names to Ghostbuster relatives derived from the GBI campaign my brother and friends ran years ago. But out came “Conrad Venkman” and “Julius Stantz” to make way for “Charlie Venkman” and “David Stantz”, ect…

Then there was the thread RGB Truly Canon With the Movies? where I finally mentioned this thing I'd been working on. With the aforementioned encouragement of Dr. Spectrum, Brian_Reilly, and my Great Friend Doc Ryedale I converted it to html, started a Lycos account, and kaboom…there it is.

And like I said…I have no life…

Born2bustheads: Holy Crap!!! I think you are utterly, completely right about that!!! :O 1978 for the New Timeline, 1958 for the Omnibus!!! That is some great work!!! Thank you!!! Expect to see the change reflected in both timelines later tonight or tomorrow morning. A Six-pack of Coke and a box of Twinkies to you! (See folks…I don't remember everything )

Yup, Mr. Veedramon, once again excellent work. You deserve a prize for this.

I can't say much more than has been said except that I can only hope this will be quicker easier for you to maintain/work on than the Omnibus Timeline since this is a work just starting out. :d
