The new recruit

Sorry if this has been asked or talked about before. Just let me know if that's the case and I'll lock.

I have a question for everyone. For 25 years, we've always concidered the boys in grey to b Peter, Ray, Egon, and Winston. Now, there is going to be a new Ghostbuster to the team. This isn't a situation like the Extreme Ghostbusters, where it was a brand new team. It is the old team with a new guy. My question is, do you think the new guy(not sure if a name has been announced) will be concidered a actual part of the team, or be the blacksheep who doesn't really fit?

I know we know nothing about his personality, but most often in series such as Ghostbusters, new additions to a perfect team don't go over. Aftr this game, will be be concidered a big enough part of the story line to be in the possible new movie?

In my opinion, the new recruit is going to be considered canon. He is a part of the GB universe, and will be recognized as such, since before the resurgent talk of a new movie, this was being considered as Ghostbusters III by the big players. However, that doesn't mean he needs to be in the new movie. Given the fact the game takes place 18 years ago, he wouldn't necessarily still need to be with the company. He could leave for other opportunities after a few years, or even after a few months.

I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere down the line the Ghostbusters finally branched out as a business with the Rookie heading another team in a different location.

The whole joke of the “rookie” not having a name is, he is the Experimental Weapons Tech, and there is a chance that he won't be around very long, so what's the point of learning his name, that's why throughout the game they call him various things like, kid, killer, and hey you. Why does anybody even care whether or not he has a name, anyway!(*peter)…maybe, if they do make a sequel, there will be a whole new rookie…it could happen!

Sounds more like he's the “Expendable Weapons Tech” to me.

Still, as long as the new recruit isn't New_Recruit, I'll be perfectly happy.

I'm sure if he branches out to the Matrix universe that will be his name… Hopefully though the new recruit won't get blown to bits, but rather join an exclusive group of variousmonsterbusters consisting of other non-dialogue notables Adrian Shepard, Gordan Freeman, Isaac Clarke, etc, etc…

I read somewhere that he is an intern and that the interns don't usually last long so they don't bother giving them nametags or really even learning their names. Ha!

I have a feeling that during the game we will find out various things about his personality and if he even survives the games events then we will get to find out his name.

Just my opinion on that though…

This is one of the reasons they should put in the opinion of the character customization. Everyone would have a chance to modify their own GB character to look just like them (since everyone whose a GB fan could place “themselves” into the game or throw in a favorite character from another game or show). If they had that option for Soul Calibur 3 and at some cases Def Jam: Fight for NY, why not GB?

Made a short strip about that issue here.

I feel that the new recruit is just their so that people can feel like they are part of the game/ghostbusters, without him we would just be watching a cgi movie
