I just got volume 1 on DVD. It has a little booklet with all the episodes, trivia facts, and special feature info. every episode has an introduction from someone who worked on it. if anyone wants to check it out they can pick it up on amazon.

That is what I meant.

I got my set shortly after I came home from my first year of college.

I am really glad that the firehouse packaging was not torn in the upper left corner as many Ghostheads reported when first purchaseing the set. I loved getting to watch the original pilot in all it's glory, it would have been neat to have the RGB's sport the tan uniforms on the show proper, thought I like the idea of the individual jumpsuits now just as much as I did back in 1986.

The bonus features are great, I learned quite a bit about the show as well as what it was like to work on 1980's cartoons in general.

PS: Did anyone else notice that Knock Knock used the Ghostbusters theme during the battle on the subway instead of Tahiti's The Bogeyman song?

Unfortunately yes. It's why I'll keep a copy of that episode with “The boogieman” on my machine.

I just got Volume 1 and am really impressed by how much special features are on there. I hope the subsequent volumes will have as much to offer as far as special features go

Has anybody that needed a replacement of something from the box set gotten their replacement yet from Time-Life? I was told that the Ghostbusters Firehouse would be sent to me in December, yet I keep getting delay notices or cancellation notices that I have to keep calling in about. They have to be filling orders of people who just get the regular set with everything included, so I don't really see why they can't send me one now.
Well, I'm still waiting for my replacement Firehouse box. I hope they send it soon. I've called several times, but I keep getting the runaround.

Over in the UK these sets are a little trickier to come by but ordering Vol 1 from amazon.com worked out at £20 which isn't bad. I've read (wikipedia I think) that Vol 1 was the start of the individual volumes being released throughout 2009 and 2010. Does anyone have any idea if Vol 1 sold enough for them to continue the individual releases? (They're already produced for the box sets so it would make sense they'd try to gain more sales individually - unlike The Simpsons where you have a 6-12 month wait for the extra content to be produced) I'm hoping to pick up Vol 2 & 3 in the same way but from what I gather they aren't available for pre-order or even planned for release yet.

Did you know that Season 1 is up for sale on PLAY.com for £5.99 delivered…?

It's a start, but season 1 is only 13 episodes and episodes that have already frequently had home video/dvd release. The bulk of my favorite episodes are in the mammoth season 2. I don't know how they'll divide that up into subsequent dvd releases, and being as they haven't taken the Time Life route I won't be holding my breath for a second volume.

Also… that artwork sucks.
