Personally I think the plot is going to revolve around the supposed GB3 script where NYC was slowly turning into hell. I think the main bad guy is going to be Hades, the God of the Underworld. Maybe thats why Central Park is turning into a massive gravesite and maybe thats the reason for so many spirits that were “killed” in the 1st two movies to be able to be re-released from a sort of hell/ limbo place. I seriously doubt that just by creating a museum is going to bring Gozer back to life. There were key plot points that could only bring Gozer to life in the first movie and doing a re-tread of that would be dumb.

Now if they do decide to kill off a Ghostbuster as rumored for the 3rd movie a long time ago. I think it would be appropriate for Venkman to be dead and have him help them from the afterworld. Mind you this is only if Bill Murray doesnt have a significant part in the game. but i think he will. seeing as hes given his likeness rights. all they need is his audio.

i have a feeling we may see the return of Ivo Shandor we heard his name but no one has ever seen him

Will any character die? (I doubt it, but you never know)
I doubt it but this gb looks darker then the films so only time will tell

It is possible it could spread to jersey (maybe the Jersey devil shows up)

*Correct as it's only his likeness and speech they need…However that “proposed” idea was only when Bill didn't want to have anything at all to do with a second sequel, and they were looking at “last-ditch efforts” to include Venkman…

*As you said yourself, all he has to do is record his lines, and approve his likeness - No “acting” on his part , so I highly doubt they'll be going with the “Venkman is dead returning as a ghost” bit (*peter) , even if the “GBIII Goes To Hell” idea is even on the table at all…
