It would; that might be because he hasn't used it in five years (even after one year off from skeet shooting I've forgotten about the recoil).

I think it's a ‘deadman switch’ setup; it doesn't seem like they wouldn't consider a possibility of someone being thrown back or otherwise dropping a thrower. To have them on continuous-fire in that case would be extremely dangerous.

Have the packs not been shown in a couple of RGB episodes doing this? I seem to recall that happening perhaps in Slimer, Come Home and several others.
