At least he isn't posting a topic about Proton Charging in every forum of the message board. Or in every active topic.

Oh like you never promote your…

Oh wait, You don't have anything to promote, because you don't do anything, EVER!

Oooo. Sick Burn.

Not really, just pointing out you're hardly one to criticise when you whored out your forum on Ghostbusters HQ like a serial spammer.

For my own curiosity, and I'm serious here, what degree do you and do you not agree with him?

I think this is a great way to reward fans for spreading the good word. Very creative and straightforward.

LOL Serial Spammer. That's a good one.

At any rate, it's a cool contest idea. But in terms of benifiting, it's not like he's making money off of this. Yes he may be advertising something, but how many of us don't do that just by posting here?

It's a contest, offering a whole lot of free stuff, most of them pretty hard to find now a days.

I like that idea, I tried a similiar thing when I still have the Webcomic to little success.

Please, let's not beat a dead horse here. GBHQ is gone and we all just need to move on.

Castewar, while I couldn't say for sure, perhaps Bo is referring to the celeb photo part. The day Nightsquad went to HorrorHound he made mention of his dislike of standing on line for photos. The whole thing being awkward and impersonal, on top of that pimping something….

But like I said, I'm just hazarding a guess.

Ah ha, I get it. It only came to mind as magazines often run pictures of readers holding the magazine up with notables - I was trying to think of examples and that pop up.

She's dead on the money. I'd much rather meet a celebrity when there's no line in front of me or behind me. I've seen enough celeb-horny nerds to know I don't want to be the guy waiting for hours to meet a celebrity, or the dick-head holding up the line because he's trying be best buds with whatever c-lister from a dead TV show he has a hard-on for. I'd rather prefer to catch said celebrity in a down moment where they're not signing a line full of autographs and are kinda relaxed. That's about the long and short of it. I figure these guys got enough greasey acne riddled crap to deal with, without having some nerd trying to whore somebody elses website while they're kind enough to take a picture with them.

Also, From a personal standpoint, I think the execution of the contest is a real dick move. You coulda done something else instead of having them whore your website as one of the pre-requisites.

Change the facts. Think of a way to get rid of the self-promoting, and there'll be less to complain about. The celebrity-hunting should probably go to. I can understand that it's hard to put forth an objective for this contest that would make it accessible to anyone. It has to be fair for everyone, and don't get me wrong, this contest is on an even field, but I think you can come up with something much better than this.

Translation: a popular ordinary person? (*janine) :p :-)

“Hey, who's the ‘nerd’ waiting out of the line?! Get back in there!” (*peter) :p :-)

Translation: you prefer to disturb them in their routine, instead of meeting them in events made just for that? :p :-)

Well, there are other options aside from posing with a celebrity. Web pimping, marshmallow sculpturing, tattoos or whatever.
