although the proton pack in theory is a completely insane theory (kind of like brittany spears or christina agulera actually singing their own music)…… there is still however room for doubt….. but the only way i can think of it working would involve a uranium core, which would power an accelerator, which in turn would be hooked to a particle exciter/ changer……. then what you would do is laser guide it by making a web of electrons charged to whatever charge you set the machine to around the edge of the beam to make some what of a force feild which would trap the oposing electrons and cause almost a laser beam….. of course it would only incinerate everything from where you were standing to the point that it breaks away from the earths atmosphere and runs out of energy (depending on your power settings), this would also not look exactly like a proton pack but who cares? think of the cash you could make selling it to the army! my god it would be capable of incinerating an ant from space without damaging anything else!

A proton pack is basically a minature nuclear power plant fitted with the works(i.e. Fuel Rods, coolant, and a centrafuse). If a proton pack was to overload and explode estimations point to atleast 1/4 of a city block would be destroyed.
