The Purpose of Collecting Used Traps

I have noticed that after you catch a ghost you can go up to the trap and press X to collect it. I have also noticed that after trapping a ghost you can leave the traps where they are.

Is there any point in collecting used traps? If not then why did the developers make it possible for the player to collect them?

It adds a sense of realism.

From what I've seen, if you don't pick it up, one of the other Ghostbusters will (unless you're alone).

I have also noticed that you can always throw new traps without picking up the one you already threw. My guess would be that the developers left the option to pick up your trap simply for a little added realism. I doubt picking them up serves any practical purpose.

I was thinking about that this morning, too bad we can go through the level without picking the traps …

I've also noticed that when you have thrown a trap on the ground, if you then throw another one the one that was already on the ground disappears.

The only use I've had for it is getting an achievement. <_<

Same here. And it's just the right thing to do, environmentally speaking.

If anything, I think they did it for the fans. I'm glad they added it. I still pick mine up even though its pointless. Except in multiplayer when things get too hectic.

I notice that if you pick up your trap the next time you throw one it comes out and sets up quicker. Rather than just throwing out an another trap altogether.

I first thought that the traps can only be used once like when you capture a ghost you have to pick it up again and trow it again in order to use it again, but I see now you don;t have to.

BUT, I did notice something. The traps CAN be damaged if a ghost attacks it. It's rare, but it has happened to me and Ray said “He damaged the trap.”

How you fix it is you pick it up and throw it again.

Kind of interesting if you ask me.

I also noticed one last thing. You can put two ghosts in one trap. Me and Octallord did this while playing. We managed to get two ghosts into one trap and got score for both of them. It's really hard to do, but it is possible.

At the end me and him both said the “Two int he box, ready to go, we be fast and they be slow”
