Unfortunately, you really have to jump on these deals when they crop up because they'll be gone just as quickly.

I'm just glad I got my season set last year when I did…it was well worth the price

Anyone in the UK get their set yet?

Amazon.com gave me an ETA of Nov 12, but generally the dates they give are usually playing it safe. When I ordered Vol.1 I received within a week of postage! The set is obviously bulkier so maybe that would delay it a little.

Looks like it has come back down again, I assume that with the initial demand for the boxset they raised the price, but with demand slowing down they have lowered it again.

If anyone bought it at the higher price I do believe that Amazon have a price policy that says if the price drops in 30 days you can have the difference back, you do have to submit a claim I believe, have a look on the site to see it should be there.

I had mine from a seller on eBay a couple of months ago. Worked out about £130. He marked the value down so I'd not be stung by customs charges, but some idiot at Coventry Customs forgot to do the $-£ conversion, and charged me £41 anyway in import tax, which 110% of the marked value of the goods on the parcel.

I'm generally really pleased with the set. Packaging is fantastic, and as a nice little bonus, the Ecto-1 keyring I got with the BD of the movie is exactly the right size to look as if it's coming out of the Firehouse doors.

I'm a tad disapointed with some of the quality here and there. A lot of the 70s/80s TV cartoon series I have on DVD are of a disappointing quailty, which is understandable as nobody back then expected them to be wanted in this way years later. But there's a difference between episodes that are rough and beyond repair, and those that have minor issues which could be resolved in seconds.
Some episodes could easily have a white balance correction (takes seconds to do), and Night Game really should have had the black lines that appear at the start of every cut sorted out. It's worse than distracting, and could have been remedied by using footage from another source for the bottom part of the frame. I've done fixes like this myself before.

I was very dissapointed with the exclusive bonus disc. The only thing of any real value on it is the promo, which is probably available online anyway. They really should have gone a little furhter and included some better extras, such as the Rolf's Cartoon Club Making of RGB.

Still, overall it is a really nice set.
I've seen most of the first three series on thier UK TV run the 80's, so have been skipping onto some of the latter episodes here and there. The shift in mood is quite noticeable. I really don't like what they did to Janine, and Kath Soucie is nowhere near as good as Laura Summer. I wasn't very keen on the two-story episode I watched last night. More like an episode of something Hanna-Barbera would make. Slimer driving a van in a race? ugh…

There have been local strikes at various Royal Mail depots up and down the country for weeks now, including the Mount Pleasant Office which handles all the mail that comes in to the UK. I would say that you need to add at least a week on to the time you were expecting your item to arrive.

Also like Kingpin said if Royal Mail and the Union can not sort things out in the next 9 days or so there is likely to be a series of 1 days strikes by the entire Royal Mail busines.

Keep a check on the Union website to see if there are any delays in your area.
