Are there any hints as to the rookies real name yet? Its annoying how he dosent really play a major role in the story.

I think the point is that you are supposed to step into his shoes and feel like he is you.

Yeah but they could of have him a tleast have a name a talk a little I mean thats what they were going for in halo and hl2 and atleast they both had names and one even talked slightly.

Halo and Half-Life are their own universes. Ghostbusters is an adaptation.

When they came up with the idea of adding a fifth member to the team, they knew some people wouldn't like it. Keeping him anonymous makes sure that after the game is over, he doesn't really become a permanent part of the universe and change anything about the Ghostbusters.

Completely agree.

And I have no idea what the OP means by “doesn't play a major role in the story”… um, you do a lot of stuff that the guys don't do, including parts towards the end where you're off by yourself at times… so I'd say the Rookie is pretty important.
