The Sega Ghostbusters game.

Now this was a quality GB game after those two awful NES games! this one had a great sense of fun, great graphics of the time and you actually get to play as any GB except Winston, what is SEGA racist or something? but this one was satisfying stuff.

Soooo… They're racist because they did not put Winston?

The 3 characters are balances with their stamina and jump

Venkman: Middle for both
Spengler: low stamina + high jump
Stantz: high stamina + low jump

Technically, there was no room left for Winston.

And i don't recall the plot but I think it would fit before they hire him (but then people woul totally ignore they saved the world one).

Yeah… Ghostbusters Genesis was extremely awesome.

Indeed it is, I was lucky enough to snag a copy on Ebay before everyone else found out about the game and wanted it.

I actually don't find it as fun as everyone says it is. It's ok, and definably good graphics wise, but the game play doesn't really remind me of Ghostbusters that much a side from some of the boss trapping. Other than that, it seemed more like a generic action game than a ghostbuster game.

I still prefer it over alot of the older games, thats probably why everyone likes it so much cause it was one of the few games back then that didn't actually suck hard.

Though speaking of hard, it was a hard game.

I really enjoyed the 1 nes game, infact it was possibly favoured over the genesis game. I'm not sure if this was only a UK release though? I've heard something about that but don't know the details. I have a link to an online version of the game but not sure if it would be against the rules to post it (it's not a download more a flash version?). This was how I managed to play the alternative (american?) version, where it's a side scroller with an assigned ghostbuster as opposed to the birds eye view where you select.

On topic anyway, I always loved the genesis game and still play it on occassion. Doesn't matter if it's on the easiest difficulty though, I've never been able to beat the final level. I don't think, in fact, I've ever made it to a single boss in that stage :-(. Still a great game, although I would have preffered the proton stream to feature more.

There are 3 different Ghostbusters games on the NES (that I am aware of).
The first is a crappy port of a similar game on other home systems (based on the first movie) which involves driving to a location and then catching some ghosts when you get there, with a final stage at the apartment building.

The second is a side-scroller (based on the second movie) including driving section and statue of liberty section.

The third is known as “new Ghostbusters II” and was Europe/PAL only AFAIK and featured the selectable characters and the top-down view.

Thanks for that. Yea, it's the 3rd one you mentioned I liked. The other 2 were terrible, the side scroller was surprisingly poor to play as it looked almost hopeful.
