I have just one question. What has happened to this website. Ever since the episodes went off the site it began to go downhill a little bit. But now I see the site being used for stuff that has nothing to do with ghostbusters any more. what has happened to the good old days when you could just spend days on this site. If you feel the same way about this site being different than what it used to be, then leave a comment. And to the board of ghostbusters.net, please make this site the wonder it used to be

If you're talking the porn links, it's not our fault. Forums all over the net are getting bombarded by spambots.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away…

There was once a message board known as Ghostbusters.net. The entire online fanbase posted on this website and it was loved for its fanfic hosting, its episodes, its props and the forum itself. Everyone was happy until a gentleman under the name of Holbrook took a stand and said that the webmaster was a tyrant and that GBN was a dictatorship. Right or Wrong, the community became torn. The once peaceful community was split into those that followed the beliefs of Holbrook and those who didnt.

Then the Holbrookarians went off and started on a new website run by a man named NetSolo. This new website was supposedly meant to be everything GBN wasn't. It wasn't long however before people on this new website realised that an anarchistic forum was not the way to go and GBHQ became just like GBN, only with a tad more “cussing”.

But the damage had been done. GBN had suffered badly. And more and more people stopped posting. And those that did. Those who had been with the site for years had begun to exhaust all that they could talk about. And so. With a smaller community, the site became a general casual message board. Sometimes the most interesting topics coming from the misc forum.

Then one day. Spam bots began to attack. And the moderators had to do their best to delete over 100 spam posts per day.

It is a legend no one will forget. Everyone thought King Koopa had left the Mushroom Kingdom. And then, his doom ship attacked! King Koopa was back, with the greatest danger ever known: his Koopa Kids! Using their new super powers, the Super Mario Brothers rescued Princess Toadstool, and beat back the evil Koopa Family.

I really hope there is some good news on the Legion hardcover front. For me, I feel that's what really put a HUGE damper on things and let a LOT of people down…I'm not so proud to say I'm one of the many. I'm still here though.

Another factor that hasn't helped is what looks like a drop in willingness to do fics and art… stuff is still made, but not as frequently.

That is partly due to few people giving feedback, though.

Because Ghostbusters HQ is still a relatively new website…shhhyeah right. What a wonderful buyist abridged history of the community.

For those of you too entrenched in whatever fanatical belief you have, or those of you too new to remeber: there were days before GB.net and the community did exist before then. it survived then and guess what? It wasn't all concentrated in one place.

Yeah, the whole Holbrook thing did sort of have a bad effect on everything. But thats only one side of the story. Chad being away so much, which is understandable, and inconsistent policies also created problems.
