Timezones Finally Simplified

I encourage you all to go to your profiles and edit your timezone so you can see your local time at the boards. If you have already done so, great. But I modified the board with a little help from google on GMT timezones and labled each timezone / GMT offset.

Enjoy

It took a little fiddling around with my profile, but I finally got it set to the right time. That was a while ago. Hopefully this new way of figuring it out will work for all those who join us.

Ditto, though it never matches my watch during British Summer Time.

Heh heh…the advantages of living in Indiana, USA…we don't observe Daylight Savings Time, so I never have to monkey with my clocks…

Yeah, unfortunately though some of us have to deal with people who DO deal with Daylight Savings on a daily basis…it get confusing when suddenly it's over, and you didn't realize it, and you have to give a customer a callback time.

But at least all my cable channels are right again…

This calls for some Simpsons quotes:

Homer:“Eight-fifty-eight. First time I've ever been early for work. Except for all those daylight-savings days! Lousy farmers!”.

That about sums up my thoughts on daylight-saving time. We have so many damn clocks in this house!

Sorry to bump the thread, now that DST is over(yay! extra hour of sleep), I noticed that yeah, I had to update my profile so that my time now reads GMT-8 hours. Fun. I thought it automatically re-adjusted the time. Oh well.

GMT-7 hours = DST

GMT-8 hours = back to regular time(and that extra hour of sleep).

Everything's cool now!

Thanks Chad!

Even though I'm probably the only ghosthead using this time zone, “Newfoundland” is spelled wrong! :-) No biggie though, it's cool that you got the timezones up and running.

Thanks again.
