I am going to use Red Bike Refelectors for my Lights. I think it looks mostlike the actual thing and gives off a sort of shine when the lights flash behind it.
They are pretty cheap and you can get them at Target or Walmart or even K-mart and the come in the round shape already so there is no cutting to do.
This is just a thought?
What do you think….?

i used some transparent red paper to cover a coin…it was a start cause i couldn find any red bike light (that could mach the size, their too big)…what other tips you got on?

If all else fails you could buy the lenses cheap from Ken Huegel, he makes them to custom fit the cyclotron.

go to wally world and for 1.88 in the auto motive dept you can get your hands on some blinker lights almost exactly like the cyclotron lights. i bought some and they work perfectly.

I believe the original prop builders for ghostbusters used clear red lenses from somethings such as the Lightbar covers for patrol cars or maybe they came up with something else. No telling, but as long as light can get through the lense and it still looks good you should be fine. They also mentioned that the original packs were built using parts from old golf carts.

hmmmm, i bought a simple red bike strobe for night riding ($12.99 canadian), stripped off the red cover exposing the 5 red strobes under. placed several magnifying make-up mirrors all over the inside, around the strobe, on the sides and the top so it would be facing down, sideways, and upwards reflecting in any and all possible directions. as well as a small magnifying glass right over the strobes giving an unbeliveable brightness to its constant red blinking glow thus the strobes give a brillant flashing light shining through my red transparent paper over the 4 holes. it worked out well.
