Misfit
It grossed more then it cost to make at the box office already.

soooo, the sequel…

*spoiler—scroll past this*

Shredder returning?

*end spoiler*

Your thoughts?

No it hasn't. Not yet, but it's pretty close.

I plan on seeing it tomorrow.

The first movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, debuted to $25.4 million at 2,006 theaters, which would equal nearly $40 million adjusted for ticket price inflation. It went on to gross $135.3 million, the equivalent of over $210 million today. So basically, the original was quite a bit more successful in it's opening weekend and take note, that back then, ticket prices were only $3.

Well with bootlegs being all over the place, people don't see the point in going to theaters anymore. Nothing grosses as high as it use too anymore. Also given the fact that the TMNT fad was pretty big then. It's back, and big again, but it's biggest peek was probably back then.

I agree. Bootlegs and pirates f**k up alot of things. Video games have become the #1 highest grossing source of entertainment now because of that.

True… Back in those days, the stores and supermarkets were full of Turtles stuff… It was one of the biggest hypes I've encountered.
Now, for the new movie, there's almost no merchandise available at all, except the action figs…
The publicity for the film is awful too… In a capital like Brussels, I've seen a poster or two in some outskirt of the city. There aren't even any in the main trainstations. Instead, there's an awful lot of posters for the new movie starring Hugh Grant and Brew Barrymore there…

The TMNT movie deserves a lot better than this…
I've seen it, and I liked it a lot!
It was sad to see that on a saturday night, three days after the release here, there were very few people in the audience… Of course, I went to the screening of the original version and they also played a French and a Dutch version, but I doubt those were full…

Pretty soon, ‘Meet the Robinsons’ will be released out here. Even though I seriously doubt it wil be better than TMNT, it will probably blow it away with its overpowering pubicity.

Sad…

On Sunday night I saw “TMNT.” I thought it was a awesome movie. The voice actors were perfect for the rolls, the plot/story was well done, and action and fight scenes were really cool. the fight between Raphael and Leonardo was pretty cool. I really enjoyed it. I'll definitely be getting this movie when it's released on DVD.

I saw it yesterday and I was pretty impressed. The only thing it needed was this….

He was surely joking.

But like fixer said, they could have done better promotion. I've only seen a few action figures, don't think I've seen any posters anywhere! And just commercials. One thing that really stops some movies from making money these days is how they stop commercials after the movie has come out. Not everyone can see a film it's first weekend, and they may forget about it. They need reminding. But since TMNT(and tons of other movies) were released, they just stop playing commercials for it the following week! I have yet to see another TMNT promo since it's release.
