To Three or not to Three

Alright guys. I think that Star Trek and Batman have taught us that… when in the hands of capable and caring fans… a reboot is possible. It would clear up who's participating and who's not already. Do it guys. Reboot it.

You know, honestly, I consider last year's game to be Part 3. The 4th Indiana Jones just ruined the whole effect for me with an elderly Indy, as it's a reminder that you just can't go back.

I want to remember the guys in their prime, looking great, and not a reminder of how much time has passed. Again, Indy 4 was a sobering realization.

Would I watch a third movie? Undoubtedly. Would I walk into it with some hesitancy? Yes. Would I prefer their story be continued via the video game medium or an animated film? At this point, I honestly think it's the way to go.

I've been happy for all of this renewed Ghostbusters attention we've gotten in the last 5 years, but I think I'm not ready to accept that these characters have just gotten older. Childhood friends aren't meant to grow up, I you know?

Don't want a reboot. Sequel any day.

Yeah, a reboot only after the actors die. Sick of reboots all the time. Learn how to write Hollywood!

… or maybe a whole new Ghostbusters cartoon.

I concur with the “new cartoon” notion. I hereby nominate Dapper Dan to do the character design.

I'd be happy with a new cartoon series.

I honestly don't really like his art style that much. It was fine when they “borrowed it” for the Wii and DS version of the Ghostbusters game, but after looking at some comic panel samples, I wouldn't want too read a comic or watch a cartoon with that same kind of style.

That's me though. I'm sure a lot people would disagree with me, but if they make a new cartoon, I'd want a style like they had for Real Ghostbusters, but slightly more realistic to look like the movie.

Actually, I have the same opinion. Those semi-caricature character designs of his doesn't work for me. Not saying it is bad, just not my kinda thing. If a new animation series is done I would prefer it to be with the RGB designs. Hey, and why not? Scooby Doo keeps getting cartoon show after cartoon show nowadays, so why not Ghostbusters?

do i really want to see gb3? not so much. like many others have said the video game storyline was done in such as way as that will be my third. i don't think the 3rd movie could possibly top the video game in terms of storyline and the simple fact the guys were in their prime. now on the flip side of that.. i think we will get a gb movie within the next decade one way or another. i would much rather see a “pass the torch” type thing go on than a total reboot.
