Toronto G8/20 What Really Happened

Amazing what some editing can do to try to prove your point.

That main guy that that video showed getting tackled was taken at the US Embassy, and the person who made this video clearly left out the parts of the video that showed he was behind a huge fence and was not allowed to be where he was. That doesn't count as “peaceful protesting”. You're not allowed to be there, and when people aren't being peaceful and are destroying buildings, police are going to arrest you. He resisted arrest by not going down as the police tried to put him down, so more had to join in. Sorry, that's not “excessive force” that's necessary.

Great video, I applaud the police for doing what was necessary against a bunch of idiots who now want to claim they were peaceful and weren't doing anything wrong.

Kingpin, Doctor Venkman, JamesCGamora, glad you agree with the police's method and I guess if you back up their actions then you three must condone threats of rape to women, since that was one of their tactics.

“I was throttled by a cop and later threatened with rape,” Amy Miller, of the Alternative Media Centre, said. “I saw young women being strip searched by men.”

What deeply disturbs me is the police's treatment of the media, where journalists were outright attacked by the police..

Also, I ended up talking to the dude in the 9/11 shirt in the video(as he's from Ottawa), he was arrested and was going to be charged with conspiracy to commit mischief which was dropped. However, he did spend 6 hours in handcuffs, soaked from the rain, no shoes, locked in a bus with 20 people for an hour in half with no open windows for air.

Gotta love make shift prisons.

PS. He was just standing around when he was approached by police.

Seriously, go back to making stupid YouTube videos you hack.

None of us condone rape. Suggesting otherwise is the childish and confrontational stance of someone who doesn't understand the severity of what people were doing, and of someone who blindly and immaturely defends and condones their actions. Nice job completely avoiding my point that you intentionally edited the video to not show the fact that the main protester in the video is breaking the law and is in an area where he is not allowed to be and then resists arrest.

Your inability to grasp realistic conversation about current events without presenting a biased “damn the man” opinion isn't surprising actually, given the lack of intelligence you've displayed so far on this website… its honestly just sad at this point.

I was just stating that if you support the Wolrd Police adn their tactics, you'd appreciate they rape scare tactic. So you think what happened to Amy Miller and Co. was justified? I just feel terrible for those girls that Amy Miller was talking about.

As for a matter of fact I do have a great understanding of the issue, unlike you, I've been interviewing those who were down there, and getting info on what happened to who. All you need to do is look at the G8/20 meeting in Pittsburgh last year, as the ‘World Police’ were disguised as protesters trying to cause a ruckus. However, they were spotted and caught by a group of protesters.

I will address your point to that person who is not allowed to be and then resists arrest…shame on him. Too bad that wasn't the case for other's who were peacfully protesting and then were beaten or handcuffed. So you're saying Martial Law should be allowed?

Who have you talked to that was down there or did you see everything you needed to see on “The News”

Did you care to comment on the dude I talked to, who was wrongfully arrested,we can see him in the video I made standing there, then shortly after he was arrested on bogus charges and was later released.

Don't forget, these are also “protesters”

Aren't I lucky, to live in a country where we need police for the police.

But then again, I'm just a hack.

The “World Police”? (*winston)

As for people who supposedly did nothing but were arrested anyway, that's the danger of being present with individuals who are breaking the law by attacking members of the city's Police, destroying public and private property, and being there soley to cause anarchy.

The Police may have overstepped the line in some cases… but I can't say that isn't understandable… for crying out loud, some of the protestors set Police cars on fire! However, it doesn't excuse the fact that a lot of those protestors will try hide behind a banner of naivety and being a “good-guy”, to try get away with the illegal acts they've done.

Not all protestors are anarchists, but a lot who caused the damage in Toronto were, just as how there are some bad apples in every Police force, but a lot of the officers are good people.

On a different note, I'm concerned about this topic potentially baiting a reaction out of people.

Yes.

However, the police had prior knowledge to what was going to happen and didn't do anything to prevent it and then abused the power they were given.

I mean normal people tried stepping before the police for sure.

However when the police abused their power, here is a clip. This clip makes me upset. It did not need to happen.

Even when the protest wasn't going on, this had to happen as well.

Oh, I think so.

I am too Ben, I was wondering what people's thought were on it and to see if anyone felt the same as I. Could be worse I guess, at least I'm not trolling around calling people so called “hacks”.

No, no, you're just trolling around claiming people support rape. And “I am too”? Seriously? Ben's comment was directed at you and the fact that you only created this topic to bait people.

This sums it up very well Ben. But of course, Brenden will just come back defending the few who weren't there causing trouble, and use the few who had their rights violated as if that was the majority. After all, he knows. He's interviewed them for his YouTube account.

I had a lot more to say here, but I'm gonna stop taking Brenden's bait. It's impossible to talk to conspiracy theorists. I just hope that you don't call the police when someone's breaking into your house… They might use excessive force when the guy doesn't want to leave.

Eh. I don't watch TV (I gave my converter box to my sister a while back). Either way, I'm not surprised that a bunch of protesters got the beatdown for wanting some answers.

Further proof for why I fucking hate cops.

Also, the woman at 1:48 looks like Ronnie James Dio with boobs.

I'm locking this until I have the time to go through the video and respond accordingly… By Thursday I'll have worked nine days with only one day off… and I really don't want to start getting into a heated debate tonight.
