Unbelievable, some people...

I was just looking at IMDB (Internet Movie DataBase) and their sections on Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2. Each section provides a place for viewers of each movie to post what they thought about the movie.
While there are a lot of people who have posted being pleased with both movies, there is utter HATE from a few people against the movies.
On GB2, one person not only quoted how they think there is terrible acting and writing, and picked at little things that changed from the first to the second, which is their right to sound off about it, but here's what should offend a lot of people: they made alist of what should happen in a part 3, and parts included making Winston less intelligent and then making him handicapped. Obviously this person either was racist or hated the character unbelievably. They also said that in GB3, they should quote GB2 as being a dream because it was so bad, and also kill Dana and Oscar. What?! Crazy rating.
Another rating on the original movie cited Bill Murray as being a sorry excuse for acting, and basically said the movie sucked.

The right of free speech, sure. And I understand that all people aren't going to like this movie. But boy, I'll tell you, these people are so unbelievably critical that it makes me wonder how they can enjoy even one single movie.

Anyway, just thought I'd let everyone know. I'm done now. smile

I've also noticed unkind reviews for the movies. One guy said that GB1's not quotable and it lacked plot (or something like that) and he only liked it for the special effects…
But, as you said, freedom of speech.

yes, I have run into some people who didn't apreciate the film. I personally think it has to do with social enviroment. Look at Harry Poter. Alot of older people may not like it because it seems too kiddyish for them . I think the same thing happened with ghostbusters. The older you go, the fewer GB fans you'll find. I think the peak is around those born in 83' and 84'. But regardless, a wise man once said:

“People demand freedom of speech to make up for the freedom of thought which they avoid.”

I read that comment on the IMDB too Dr. Spengler when that one reviewer said that about GB2 (make Winston less intelligent and handicapped, what the Hell is his problem with the character). That review really pissed me off…

Why care though because there are more fans than critics ill bet i mean jus look, 1767 users on here alone. The vast majority of people aint got a problem wit GB. All i care about is that there aint no haters on this site.

The people that go out of their way to bash something have got to be bored out of their minds. It reminds me of the depressing people at Aintitcool.com that yell at each other over movies.
