Ok, to anyone who knows about lights that are put on top of cars and other supplies that would be needed to make a duplicate of the Ecto-1 listen carefully. Something i wondered about. Since the Universal Studios Ecto is supposedly getting a facelift, is it impossible to find the right lights and other props that would be necessary to make it look right? I mean, the side view mirrors are wrong. The front lights in front of the light bars are in the wrong spot (too close together) and wrong color. The red gumball light over the front light bar, is wrong, etc. Is it impossible to get the right material in order to properly honor the Ecto? Or is it just too expensive or what? Dont get me wrong, im glad Universal has an Ecto. I just wish they had done it closer to what the Movie had shown. Can someone tell me?

I dont belive that universal studios is looking for an exact duplicate of any of the Ectomobiles, but a mix Beween RGB and the GB serials. dont forget alot more kids are more familar with RGB than GB. with the facelift around the corner things Might change, if it happens. and no, its far from impossible to get original lights, accesories for the Ecto-1. they still sell them across north america. mostly in private businesses though, but at a cost of course. as for the body & external attachments (mirrors, moldings, rims…) they will never be the same because even though the Universal studios Ectomobile is a 59 Cadillac ambulance its not either a M&M or S&S model, but either a Eureka or Superior. big differenace.

so what exactly are they doing to it? i've read somewhere that it's going to be a combo of the ecto 1/1a. that may have been a rumor or something. any inside info???
