Video Card Fried?

Burn marks on the card pretty much seal the deal so to speak. If the card has burn marks or a slight crispy flakey golden brown crust, then you can assume it's fried.

If you have more than PIC Express slots you can put in those to test if you REALLY want to be COMPLETELY sure. But I'm guessing its a waste of time for you at this juncture.

I put burn in quotation marks due to the fact I am unsure it if would be considered burn marks. Its dark (I mean really dark) discoloration spots (almost a dark grey color) on the card itself. There was, although, flakie golden colored dust like you discribed located on the mini fan of the card.

Well I was more or less refering to the extra crispy recipe, but alas the joke was lost.

No, I got it, but apparently my reference to your joke was lost…

Maybe I should have just made an 'original reciepe" joke instead.

Update:

I just put a new Video card in a moment ago and everything seems to be running fine now. Thanks to all who gave their input and helped me track down the problem.
