when i saw this on protoncharging i thouhgt i read about a ghostbusters convention being in that area, but i could be mistaken

Peachtree TV is holding a Summer series of outdoor films - Screen on the Green - starting in mid-May, and the June 25th slot is open to public vote.

Now, the other two are pretty good picks - Big and Princess Bride. But c’mon. It’s the 25th Anniversary for Ghostbusters. The fan gathering, PKE Surge 2009 is happening a month later. It MUST be shown!

So VOTE!

So, the gathering he's referring to is the PKE Surge, being held at DragonCon, which is a month after this. The mention of it in the posting is probably solely for the purpose of getting the word out on the gathering more and more. The screening won't really be taking place any time around the gathering.

Question… what is the related convention you're speaking of? It appears as though this is just a movie showing in the park every Thursday type of thing… I don't see anything that suggests Ghostbusters immediately. Yes, June is teh 25th anniversary of Ghostbusters, but that's not really “related convention” type material. Is there something else that I don't know about?

Sorry, I got confused by this line: “this is a vote for a screening of 1 of the following 3 movies to be played at the site of i believe a ghostbusters con”

It sounded like there was a concern that a non-related film to Ghostbusters had a chance of playing over the Ghostbusters film, which sounded bizarre.
