He-man has already been a live action movie. “Masters of the Universe” starring Courtney Cox

Which is why I said “New” masters of the universe movie. It also had Dolph Lundgren from Rocky IV.

Yep, Dolph Lundgren as He-Man. Lundgren turned 50 on 11/3/2007. Happy belated birthday to ya Dolph!

Dolph is 50? Man, he's aging pretty well. To bad the same can't be said for his movies, they aren't as good as they could be.

apparently the orginal masters of the univese movie was dolphs first starring role - it played here on showtime greats a few nights ago - (random: the same guy who did the special effects on ghostbusters also did the sfx on masters of the universe )

I thought Dolph's first starring role was a small part in “A View To A Kill” (the last Roger Moore James Bond film) followed by his Ivan Drago role in “Rocky 4”.

Rocky 4 predates Masters of the Universe. But I think he means starring role as, “title role” as in playing He-man made him the star of the movie. Yes, he was popular in Rocky 4, but obviously Sylvester Stallone was the star of the film.

Really? Well Bill Conti who composed the music for Rocky 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 did the music for Masters of the Universe. And there was also rumor that Sylvester Stallone was considered for the role of He-man.

EDIT: Also really random, Kaare Andrews film maker, comic book writer and artist wants to take a crack at a new He-man movie. He whipped together a little animation video about his vision of He-man. This is NOT an official trailer and does not have anything involved with the actual production.

1) My apologies. I misunderstood him.
2) I heard of Kaare Andrews wanting to take a crack at He-Man. I'm intrigued. I wish him luck.

Well, back to Thundercats, which do you the people personally prefer - Thundercats as actors in fancy prosthetic make up or Thundercats as stop motion CGI figures like the new “Beowulf” movie?

I'd like to see actors in makeup and costumes. That's how the main characters in LOTR were done and they looked completely believable.

CGI, impressive as it is, still looks fake. You can't beat live action.

Whilst I like others would like to see it live action… I'm not sure how much could be done with a heavy use of CGI… The benefits with something like Beowulf is that as it's all CGI, there's no blend, or obvious change where a live action element has become CGI.
