I also read somewhere that he was called “The Glutonous Onion-headed Phantasm”. Now THAT was funny!

Ummm..No, have you ever seen both movies? They look completely different. I mean honestly, The green ghost was called Onion head. in GB1. THen Slimer in the Cartoon. ANd then slimer in GB2. I am just going to pretend they are two different ghosts to help explain how they look different and how one is good and one is evil.

i never thought of him as evil in GB 1… just maybe like.. stupid and a little bit like that asshole roomate that everyone hears from their brothers or friends

I prefer the name “Slimer” over “Onionhead,” but I prefer the nameless goober who eats a lot over both.

I know what you mean. “Slimer” is a better, descriptive name. “Onionhead” just doesn't do it. Onionhead sounds more like a mutant vegatable or a Dick Tracy villain. :p

*sigh* you two never studied…. onionhead was never even CONSIDERED as a name for the ghost in the hotel scene. the production crew started using the term “Onionhead ghost” because the ghost was described in the script as having a horrible odor. the nickname stuck with the crew through production. that's ALL it was… a nickname, nothing official.

I'm well aware of that, but a lot of people around here think Onionhead is his “official” name simply because that's what the production crew called him. Just sayin's I don't think it suits him, is all.

Gee, guess I'll hafta watch my videotaped recording of the show. i taped GB and GB2 off of Space in 1999. It was un-edited, or so I think, cuz it was definetly the version where Ray called Peck “Dickless” and Peter said, “Yes it's true. This man has no dick.” Other channels don't play that version.

riddle- is that another fan-created fantasy or something from RGB? aykroyd said in MAKING GHOSTBUSTERS… “He's an accumulation of spirits that haunt this hotel, and he just doesn't want to leave.”

doesn't exactly sound like a by-product of a ritual to me….

something that hasn't crossed my mind…. i LOVE that the no-ghost logos are actually drawn as opposed to added digitally onto the art…
