What do you want in the comic?

That was an interesting idea, Mr. :-)

Not to sound rude, but this thread is about (And is named.) What do you want in the comic?, and not about Egon's lovelife or who gets him. So please, stay on topic. Come to think of it, why don't you start an entire new thread on it? You can continue your arguments there, but keep it clean.

Mr. Jacobs, that's an astounding suggestion. It's quite realistic; in fact…

…Perhaps too realistic.

Think about it everybody. If the Ghostbusters started up in 2003 in the Real World, forget the EPA–they'd have the Department of Homeland Security after their asses. “Where did you get that plutonium?!?!” Not to mention that Al Qaida and every other terrorist nutjob, foreign or domestic (the neo-Nazi lowlifes and such) trying to get their hands on that tech. “We don't even have to overload it? Just cross the streams and wipe out thousands of infidels/One World Conspirators/whatever all at once by crossing the streams? We must have this!!!”

Like the religion issue mentioned in the It's Coming thread once, it might be too much of a crapstorm for Mr. Dabb to want to deal with. It's be all too easy for that slippery slope to lead to a terrorist action thriller instead of Ghostbusters

Okay, now that I've read Fritz's reply, I agree with him. That would cause too much trouble…

Well Dr.Riddle, we ARE talking about what we want in the comic. The E/J “romance” (gag!) issue from the first movie has to be addressed in some way, which would make it a sub-plot of the upcoming comic, right?? Hmmm, thought so. Therefore, us “Anti-E/J” girls ARE on topic because we want to see the budding romance from GB1 end within the first few issues of the comic (or sooner). With that being said, I think you had an excellent idea about us Egon fans starting a no E/J thread to hash out the issue with the shippers once and for all, although I don't think it's any of us “Anti-E/J”ers who will be mean, nasty or disrespectful to one another, it will be the shippers flaming us…..

No, no, no, no, no. You misunderstood me. I meant FLAMING in this thread. There's nothing wrong with talking about Egon's or Janine's lovelife in this thread, as long as it has to do with how you want it to be in the new comic. But please, NO MORE FLAMING! :p Not that you've done that, but I'm just letting others in general *Clears throught* know. Okay? Good. Great. :-)

No problem Dr. Riddle, you know how quick we Egon fans are to fight for what we believe in though, lol. I agree with you 100% about the no flaming, but if someone shoots sparks in my direction I'm jumping to the defense…..who wouldn't??

Well Doc Fritz, I had almost those exact same thoughts (without the crossing the streams bit) after I was channel surfing and found the first movie on Comedy Central shortly after the Homeland Security thing got out of hand with the almost pointless color codings of terror alerts. Then I was reminded of the all to real episode of Extreme Ghostbusters where Kylie and Eduardo get thier packs stolen by some robbers.

But then I thought this would be a great premise for GBIII. But then I found out about the comic and wanted to see the military be another thorn in the side of the GB's in the same vein as Walter Peck, Charlie Venkman, and that mayor's assistant in the second movie.

Which reminds me of another thing to add to thier Rouge (I use the term “rouge” loosely) Gallery: Ghost rights groups. Just protesters and such that would piss the guys off every few arcs, but nothing major maybe send them to court or intentionally screw up a job or even just make them look like fools on tv.

Yeah, that was something I mentioned back on the old boards too…like PETA for ghosts, if you will. Their rationale is that “these are the spirits of their ancestors, how could they be evil?” Well intentioned, but horribly misinformed.

Well I thought about this when I saw the Atlantic article in the first movie it said something like “Ghostbusters: Do ghosts have rights?” or something like that. But I like your slogan thing a lot Toygeek

That would be an off-topic flame. :p
