I don't think that Peter will be less fun if he's Dana. In fact, I think it could bring quite a lot of funny scenarios. And even if they break up before the second movie, it could be in 100 issues.
And there's no “if”. Dana WILL be there.

Hmmm…Doomsday Dan is another person who seems to be talking with a lot of certainty…
As always, everybody remember that the new comic is going to treat GB2 as something that might happen, but not necessarily. So whether Dana and Venkman remain together is totally up to Mr. Dabb and Mr. Clavet. And fan sentiment, of course.

No, I didn't mean I wanted to see Dana get together with him, I meant I wanted to see the Boogieman make some appearances in this new comic. :p

I'm sure he'll probably show up at some point…but you wouldn't want them to burn out early into the series, would you? I'd rather see the boogieman show up a little later, after we've settled into the GB world that 88MPH is creating for us.
That way, when he shakes things up (and this is the boogieman, how can he NOT “shake things up”?), it has a little more resonance.
