what ghostbusters would have 20 years later

if the ghostbusters existed today i think they would have there own reality tv show. just look at the popularity of the shows like ghost hunters.

i think the third movie would be hilarious if they had a camera man trying to keep up with the guys, or getting in the way
you know venkman would love the attention!
SCENE SETUP
a graphic that says THE “REAL” GHOSTBUSTERS and the catchy gb jingle is on the screen then……
(THREW CAMERA VIEW) walking into the firehouse.it is a really busy place with new recruits running around holding smoking traps and weird equipment, Students racing up stairs to get to egons class on time, janine's secretaries answering phones, Venkman playing cards with slimer.
All of a sudden the bell rings and a few recruit s jump into the car. the camera gets into the car. they are about to take off when peter jumps in and looks in the camera.
Peter “I'm not about to let these newbies get any air time”
recruit “peter, you come on jobs anymore”
Venkman looks at the camera and smiles
Peter “Ah, yet another confused recruit, it is why i became a ghostbuster”

WOULD BE AWESOME what do you think

I think it wouldn't be awesome, just an attempt to reflect the current trend for “reality” television, which would end up being anything but.

It'd just be a gimmick, I'd rather a third film stay away from gimmicks like that.

As a stand-alone comic book, it would be incredible.

actually reality isn't really the "trend anymore. maybe if the movie was being made in 2004.
the thought was if ghostbusters really did exsit the would be super franchised. And at one point someone would give them a show.

maybe im wrong. i really like the show the office, and think the comedy would fit, since the writers from the show wrote the first and second draft of gb3

I think it be pretty funny for an opening scene, the intro to what the guys are doing now. could really set up the time frame, and where the characters are.

Not really a gimmick, the last two entries were very aware of the time that they took place, GB2 took place in December 89. and GB VG took place in 1991. so it make sense to know that GB3 takes place in the 2010s.

People make TV shows/spinoffs of anything once it reaches a certain point in the media. if a franchise like that were around now, TV execs would deffinately slap a camera crew onto it.

couldn't have said it better. and im defiantly not saying the whole movie should be like that, but it wouldn't start the same way as the other movies. And it would set the tone nicely

If we're talking “Reality TV interview” intros, then I can already think of one movie to use something like that, The Truman Show.

The opening of the first movie set the tone perfectly, Ghostbusters doesn't need some sort of mockumentary to do that.

yes it did BUT if you did everything the same everything would be BORING

truman show was a good movie but it wasn't a comedy. AND THAT MOVIE CAME OUT BEFORE THE EXSISTENCE OF REALITY TELEVISION

sooooo MR “LETS NOT JUMP ON WHATS POPULAR AT THE TIME” what about the first movie WHICH IS PACKED WITH THE 80'S, LIKE THE GHOSTBUSTERS SONG BY AN 80'S ARTIST!!!

some fan boys are just stuck in the past and see whats really good for them (*flame)

It doesnt have to be mockumentary through out the whole first 5 minutes.

The opening scene can be the paranormal threat like usual GB-style.

Then the intro to the characters.

It could just be one quick 2 - 3 minute scene to set up a couple of the busters and generate a couple gags. kinda like how World of the Psychic set up Peter. it could work. They could set it up to be a investigating/bust scene, then the camera pans back to show TV monitors and phony prop ghosts, stage crew using the wires to control the prop ghosts, and making spooky sound effects, the whole thing's staged, give it a slight parody of reality TV, and the all those fake paranormal shows. it could be funny for a quick little scene.
