what is up with the logo on the ghostbusters jumpsuits in gb2

I heard it was a peace sign and also a part 2 sign, Double meaning. Not to mention they used the Statue of Liberty which represents “the best in each and everyone of us!” So add that and I can see why someone would add a peace symbol for the No-Ghost logo.
Just my opinion,

I still say peace sign, that's what it is to me, and that's why it would make sense in GB 3.

Um…maybe they just wanted a new variation of their original logo? Its really not that big of a deal anyway.

I like it. It's attention grabbing and, dare I say, appealing. It's somewhat bombastic and just all out silly. And yes, I think they're advertising the movie as well. However, I don't think it has anything to do with peace.

I think that the filmmakers had the Ghostbusters 2 logo on the Firehouse and on the Jumpsuits so the audience wouldn't get confused.

Perhaps the obvious…this is their second time around truly busting Ghostbusters…someone said they didn't go out of business because they were doing birthday parties. That doesn't make sense because they did go out of business. They were forbidden by the state, county and city to use their equipment to catch ghosts. Thus, when their services were needed again, they arose for the second time, indicating an obvious logo change to hold up two fingers indicated the second go-round. I believe I wrote something about this in my “Behind the Scenes #2: When the guys returned to business,” Fan Fiction.

Either way, I think the real question here is…why was this unbelievably old thread dug back up? Oh well, I still had something to say about it, so I guess it didn't matter anyway.

Children, children. Let's not go crazy over this one: forget the double meanings, whatever they may be. First and foremost, it's got two fingers because it is part TWO. They will not use it for a part three, because the two fingers would not correlate. Obviously. Secondly, yes, they justified it in the film as the Ghostbusters SECOND time around.

As for any secondary double meanings - they were secondary. I'm sure there was heavy pressure studio wise to give the GB's a new style (jump-suits, technology, symbol) and the two fingers thing is a good indicator. That being said, it was a dumb decision. This kind of shit is indicative of when a studio makes a bad sequal and screws with what worked the first time. I'm sorry, but the two business just cheapens the look.
