What made Dr.venkman the best?(oppinion)I mean was it Bill Murray who made it or the character?or ws it a combination of both that complimented each other so well?im personally unsure!the same can be said for all the ghostbusters, was it the actors or characters who made them so great?

a combo of both. Bill had the flair for that kinda personality, and the written char had the lines for Bill to express.

At one time I liked Venkman the best. I now like Stantz. He is the heart of the Ghostbusters. It is true that Aykroyd has been faithful to the fraccnise, where Murray has not. Aykroyd also gave Murray a lot of good lines which made his character popular.

If you're talking all inclusive, including RGB, I'd hafta say it was everything. Bill gave us Pete that was was kinda like him and then Lorenzo gave us the definitive Pete.
Well, I'm lost now.

Yeah you guys are right. But on that note then if another movie was to be made, surely Dr.Venkmans character would flop or at least not be in the same league as its predecessor.Am i correct in saying this?

You are correct. Aykroyd said GB3 would give the younger ghostbusters most of the lines.

I used to like peter in the cartoons, but as far as the movies I've always liked ray the best. he is the heart of the ghostbusters. Also, a gb friend pointed this out to me, in the first movie, it seems none of the ghostbusters wanted tons of lines, so they gave most of the lines to peter, then in the second movie, they all wanted to talk so the everyone had more lines. I'd have to agree with her, but we could both be wrong, it's just an opinion, I'd say dan wrote great characters, and the others made the characters as good as they could've gotten, but that's just my opinion again.

Definately Bill, but of course with the help of Ayrkoyd's script.

Well a load of good points there tosmileso, on that note one could conclude that Peter and Ray were the most popular GB's. However, if lets say Winston had been given all the comical lines and rememberable quotes, would he be the most popular GB or was his character simply not suited for that sort of role in the film? What do you people think?

Don't forget that Harold wrote the script too, guys!
I also think that it was a combo of the actor and the character, not to mention the great writing.
