I've always wondered when Gb fans suddenly had hope that Ghostbusters 3 would be made? Does anyone know?

It wasn't just Dan Ackroyd that came up with the idea. It was also John Calley an upperhead at Sony Pictures who'd just arrived around ‘97 and when Sony was so desperate to get some hit movies, Calley went to their old properties to get something revived, which was GB3. So it was pretty much Sony and Dan Ackroyd that came up with the idea to go do a GB3. Hopefully its not out in Sony’s mind. I agree with others that the success of MIB 2 may be a major factor in GB3's future. And this mass of ‘80’s nostalgia of properties: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, He-Man, Thundercats, Micronauts and GI Joe are examples. Then Terminator 3 and Indiana Jones 4 are movie examples.

The first time I found out about the attempt to make a gb3 was a few years ago when I recorded Ghostbusters off of Encore. Before some movies come on they spend a few minutes talking about it, like how it was made and stuff like that. Well when I recorded Ghostbusters they said that Dan was currently working on gb3 and he planned foe Chris Farley to be in it before he died.

Back on Bill's board when I first came I read about the possibilities. I remember Chris Farley was to be in it and I saw it on the news so I came to the board. which says a lot about where the production of the movie has come since then

Before the internet I had pretty much waited long enough for a GB3 after GB2 sometime and decided it wasn't gonna happen!
