I'd like to see Conan O'Brien and Martin Short in it

Conan O'brien is a Late Nite Host.. None of them do any regular tv or movie acting.. It's like the Late Nite Host credo. Yes he does hosting for awards shows but that's different. That's not taped acting.

Marting Short…. Where did you think him up?!?!?!. Unless you can see him in the movie as a non GB.

Eh, so what? I think Conan would be funny as a GB. And Im not alone here. I've seen him pop up in a couple of discussions. Maybe thats just ‘cuz he’s a GB fan. I dunno.

Bluto.. if you want to quote everything I said.. Why don't you read it all first? And what is it with all the quotes? Everyone could just scroll up the page and read it.

maybe its because its easy for people to see what part of your posts we are referring to, where maybe we have a different opinion. its organization. and it lets us go piece by piece through your commentary.

and harold ramis can lose weight if he wanted to. ANYBODY can lose weight if they want to.

my great uncle (if you live in san diego, and have heard of henry's marketplace or boney's marketplace, he's henry boney) was about 400 pounds. he had health complications and recently lost 200 pounds. he used to not be able to walk and now hes walking. hes in his 90s!

Blues Brothers 2000. I think Dan had more control over it than we think. Limited budget!?!?!? They had a big police car crash sequence in it!!!!!..

you obviously arent familiar with the original blues brothers. even if youve only seen the last 30 minutes of the movie (lower wacker drive for example) you know that the amount of cars and scale of the film is drastically down for bb2k. they had the f*cking military running around in the original with tanks, swat teams and helicopters. they dropped a pinto from a helicopter!

in bb2k, we get a mini amount of police cars that really dont crash all that much. hardly what i would call a devastation to the illinois law enforcement community.

and yes limited budget. toronto is cheaper, much much cheaper than chicago.

and actually no, dan didnt have much control over it. once a script is submitted, a company (UNIVERSAL) can go in and chop it to bits.

and yes, UNIVERSAL trashed the film. you can find the details on a fansite or in an interview before submitting your next bullshit post.

a cant believe i bother answering this.

******************************

anyway… ::takes a breather:: gb3 would be good if sony didnt tell danny and harold what to do. they have my trust.

in blues and ghostbusting we trust.

did you know harold ramis co-wrote the animal house script with doug kenney and chris miller?

awesome movie. (bluto will likely agree as it is her nicknamesake…lol)

I've seen BB1 and i've seen it all the way through. Even though the police car crash sequence in the first movie was big.. It was still big in BB2k and that has to take up quite a lot of money don't you think.

Bull**** post? Is that because I'm trying to place things in reality?

I must have hit a nerve about Dan recycling his scripts seeing how you didn't reply to that part of my post. It's like a denial or something.

no its only one part at a time.

ok fine.

can you do better?!?! could you right a better script? if so, fine.

but i must say, for a script writer hes a pretty good one.

btw, read the script of bb2k…its pretty good. and im not kidding either.

the movie didnt end up matching the script.

the script dealt with jakes death, it had flashbacks and jim was in it, which made a ton of difference.

so this is why i support bb3.

and the hellbent script has potential. you just read a review of a very cynical person who didnt realize it was a first draft. and yes, first drafts tend to be devoid of humor and very techno-babblish. in a first draft, the only thing that usually ends up sticking through until the movie is the premise of the movie. thats usually about it. most of the time even the characters names and quantity change. so that first draft doesnt mean anything. and i can tell you that is probably why aykroyd was so mad at the script being leaked out. it wasnt final. it was just a premise and a lot of psychological paranormal talk most likely.

id be mad too if my script got leaked out like that. so i empathize.

btw, all franchises have pretty much the same formula. do you think any of your “popular” and “current” franchises are any different?

usually theyre just repeats of movies from the 70s and 80s. im not kidding.

for example: the mummy is a direct rip off of indiana jones.

for example: without the superman and the batman (michael keaton) movies, there would be no spiderman and daredevil movies being made today. though i honestly wish ben affleck would just disappear into oblivion. it would save peoples iq levels.

you know what the history of film is? taking other sources and meshing them together into a retold story.

it has been argued that the iliad and the odyssey are the only original works ever written. everything else is a copy of it. basically everything is a copy of mythology in general.

star wars is mythology crossed with flash gordon 40s serials and a little bit of trek. thats what it is!

empire strikes back, the quintessential sw movie has a little bit of king arthur and mordred in there. hell, even the brother/sister relationship thing seems to have been pulled right out of “le morte d'arthur” (arthur and morgawse is what im talking about).

nothing is exactly original.

so danny, keep on filling those legal pads and typing away. i know there are still people who believe in your work!

I'm not arguing that BB2K wasn't alot like the original, it was. But it wasn't ment to be like that, movie companies actually force writers to change scripts, which is what happened with BB2K.

The last two pages have been a marvelous disection of the Blues Brothers sequel, all, but yeah, this is a Ghostbusters thread on a Ghostbusters message board.

I'm not taking any of it out right now because they are all valid points in the nature of sequels and Hollywood in general and Dan Aykroyd in specific. Which is why they'll stay for now.

But please get back to the topic. Any more off-topic posts are eligible to be deleted.
